Dedication
In her book "Don't Cry For Me", Sharon Sala has made the most beautiful dedication- it brings tears
'"Soldiers are trained for battle- trained to fight to the death for country and their fellow soldiers. They are trained to be tough- and to follow orders without question. They accept that when they go to war they may not come back and they are willing to pay the sacrifice to keep their country free from tyranny.
They are trained to die- but no one has told them what to do when they come home in pieces, shattered in body, mind and spirit. The come home forever changed by what they've seen and what they've done in the name of war, and the only other people back home who truly understand how to function have either been cremated and scattered to the winds or lie buried six feet under.
I dedicate this book to the wounded warriors of our great nation, who have come home from one fight to fight again every night in their dreams.
I do not know your names, but I do cry for you.
You are my heroes.

Amen, I have one of those warriors living in my home. Two of my three boys are veterans as is their dad, both grandfathers, and more back in time. My oldest did 2 tours in Iraq. I wish i understood more about the issues, but I cannot solve them, or change them, or take them away.
Thanks for sharing.

I think all young school children should read this dedication. Then they should stand and say the pledge of allegiance to the flag. Every vet knows that flag and why it stands and what the 3 colors mean.

My dad, my husband, and my son all served in the military. Nothing upsets my husband more than to be at an event where the national anthem is played and see men, usually young men, not take their hats off while it is playing. In this world today, I fear when my husband comments on it, very loudly, someone will pull out a gun and shoot him! After serving four years active duty, my son joined the National Guard. He had only one month left to serve when his unit was told they were going to New Orleans after Katrina. They wouldn't let my son go since his time was so short, so he signed on again just to go and help the people that suffered from the hurricane. I have never seen anyone as patriotic as my son!

I thank all the men and women who have served our wonderful country, past and present.
My Dad - Army, 2 brothers - both Marines have served.
Our oldest grandson is serving now and has for the past 6 years, he will sign up for another three years soon - Army. Our grandson, turning 18 this summer is looking so forward to becoming a Marine this summer. He has been eager to serve since he turn 16.
