After using Burt's Bees for a good long time (maybe a year), I developed a sensitivity to something in it. At first I thought they were just chapped, so kept using it until they became inflamed and started peeling.

I think all chapsticks irritate me. I just use Vaseline. During the day if necessary and always at bedtime.

Saw an article about Burt's bees and couple other ingredients that contained a chemical that cause some sensitivities that were in other lip balms and sticks. The thing with some of the balms is the wax prevents any moisture getting in. I just use a regular dye and fragrant free lotion and drink a lot of water.

If I think I might be sensitive to a lip balm, I just use it on my feet.
