That's what i say when i'm upset. i just got laid off-again.
the first time was in 2006 and i knew that was coming for almost 3 years. it took them that long to close the Colorado location I was working for.
this last job i got in August of 2008. i happened to sort of ask for a raise a few months ago and got a tiny one. then was told they could hire a temp for $16.00 an hour which meant not to expect more. So now, I'm home. again.
the first time upset me but not this one. I knew it could happen so wasn't all that surprised. i just wonder who is going to have to do all the work i was doing.
more time to quilt now!!! so that is good. and garden too. i haven't had much time for anything but work.
so now i'm off to the sewing room.

Hate to hear that you have lost your job ~ but doesn't sound like you are too heart broken. Hope you enjoy the time off, and all the things you are planning on doing!!

Sorry. DO you have a chance of being re-hired? As I have said before.....I am so glad I am retired!

Well, that would "frost my cookies", as my dh would say. It seems we have a disposable society now, which includes workers.

Well that's rats in a hat for sure! Glad you have a great attitude about it - and looking forward to seeing what projects you get finished while you're home. :D

Sorry about your job, but you seem to be doing well. I'll be thinking of you and if a new job is in your future let it be a good one.

Sorry aobut your job. My husband has work at the same place for 34 years and they just announced 25 people will be permanently laid off with more to go later on. It is a scary world out there. We just hope the place doesn't close. It would be hard to start over at our ages. Enjoy your sewing room. It's therapy for me.

yes, it's a scary world out there these days. i will have to find work again but i'm thinking of only part time maybe. I'm the only one working, my hubby is much older and can't work. but we need money. I do hate driving on icy roads that sometimes i would only want to work good weather months, but that is silly.
I do hope to get some sewing done and some gardening too if i can. the end of January i fell down some cement steps leaving work (they should have laid me off before that happened!) and tore muscles in my back and got a compressed vetebrae fracture which means i can't bend over. so gardening may not be good just now. I just keep seeing the dead plants that need cutting back. they will wait.
i hear quilt tops calling me-- --
