That sounds like the professional setups that dry cleaners have.

I was at Goodwill this afternoon and spotted several ironing boards, one of them a good sturdy one (not those flimsy T-legged ones, those always seem to get loosey-goosey), it was from Target, still in the packaging, and was $20. Not bad!

I have a 1968 Sears Roebuck Ironing board that has rarely been folded and put away. It has the mesh top and the most beautiful and still very shiny chrome legs. It's stable and heavy. When I see the prices on the new things they call ironing boards, I think mine will be worth a small fortune some day! Would be a shame to have one of those "never ironers" put it out for the trash collector when I am gone.

I would never spend that much money on something I don't enjoy doing. LOL

I bought an ironing board just like this at walmart for about half that price.

My son made me a quilting ironing table, One rectangle folding table from Walmart...one piece of plywood, batting, iron board fabric from Joann, staples....great big board, I can slide the plywood portion off to give me a corner for doing sleeve caps.

I hate thrift stores. They stink. And the stuff you buy from them stinks for ages. I have a small car and will happily order stuff on the internet so the nice man in the Big Brown Truck will bring it to my door. I bought my big board too. The nice man in the Big Brown Truck brought it to my house. Cover and all. I didn't have to go to a lumber yard. Hunt up a saw or glue or nails or anything. I just put the cover on it and started ironing.
