I received a batik today from silverfoxmag. Very pretty.
I spent the day cleaning my DS house. He just recently got out of the Navy and is in the process of moving his family here from Japan. His wife and daughter and MIL will arrive on Tuesday. I cleaned the kitchen. WHat a mess. I am going back probably on Sunday to do the bathrooms. I had PT this morning. I think I am too tired to sew tonight.

I overdid it a little today with food. Not as bad as I used to do but bad for my healthier lifestyle. Tomorrow I am driving to Iowa to visit my mom for the weekend. I am packing a lunch and snacks to eat on the way. Of course the peaches are getting ripe now so I will take a few of those along for snacks. I'm sure my activity will be down for the weekend with driving about 800 miles and seriously my mom sits all day every day. I'll try to get out and walk in the mornings before it gets too hot. Have a good weekend, everyone!

Merciful Journey pam. My mom sits all day ever day too. Part of it is just her nature, she prefers to be entertained rather than entertain herself. Always has. The last two mornings I've caught heck for smiling at her.

I didn't get much activity in yesterday, the day was too fractured. I need to run into town in a little bit, I'm going to take advantage of the flat surface and tear along with my fitbit. No matter where I walk to here, it is always uphill coming home

I received 3 FQ from Cindy A yesterday. I am going to the Christmas in July mini shop hop today. Not sure how many I will make it to. I am also going to talk to my elderly uncle who lives alone and drives. He has no business doing either. He fell last Sunday at my sisters. I am going to try to talk him into getting a thing we saw that is like a life alert that will call up to 4 phone number that you program into it. We worry about him falling and he can barely get up on his own. He also has a shower where you have to step into a tub. Very scary. He admitted to falling in the shower more than once. It only took him 20 minutes to get out.

I just spent two days in the car and am SO stiff! Luckily, I was able to do a "make up" yoga class this morning and that helped a lot. My eating wasn't great in the car but I did well with meals. I took it easy with the continental breakfast and had a spinach salad for lunch yesterday. I'm cooking plain chicken and broccoli for dinner. I haven't lost any but I always feel better when I'm eating better. Pat, I thought of you when I got home. The dish cloth and towel were the same as when I left. At least they didn't leave the sink full of dishes.

Cindy my guys left the same one out for over a week. I could smell it when I walked in the door. How can they not notice these things. I made zucchini bread this morning. I drove around most of the day with it in my car it smelled so good. It was still hot when I put it in my car. I made Cincinnati style chili for dinner, I put it over strips of zucchini. It was good, the texture was a bit off, I should have cooked it a little bit longer first. I made it to 2 of the 7 stores for the Christmas in July shop hop. I swore I wasn't going to buy anything. HA HA! Did I really believe that. I bought 2 striped fabrics to use as binding on a quilt. I like to cut it on the diagonal and use it that way. Hopefully it matches. I also bought a gorgeous light colored batik to use as a blender. the 2nd shop has a lot of unique fabrics. They supposedly only buy ethically produced fabrics. They have quilte a selection of aborigional fabrics and batiks.
I received 3 months of FQ from Teddybearlady and 1 month from mjmachin. So pretty.

I have been using the Garmin Vivo...it counts my steps..well it give me a goal and then the steps count backwards until I make the goal then it goes forward. I have had it for two weeks now and it has really helped me alot to get modivated. What I have found is I get 0 exercise quilting and sewing..so I try to take a break and walk around the house and then the block a few times. My husband has been great, he will walk with me around the block...he never did before this...but he knows I have a daily goal. I highly recommend it if you need modivation. Also I have lost inches but only a few pounds on the scale. I now got rid of the scale...muscle weighs more than fat. Good luck to all with your journey.

Hi all, took a mini vacation from my food plan yesterday but happy to say back on track today. Middle eastern food is one of my favorite things and hadn't been to that particular restaurant in ages, made a decision to go for it and I'm glad I did, it was delicious! One has to have a treat now and then and that was mine. Hope everyone is reasonably on track with there plans, only 11 more days to go for those beautiful batiks! Good luck!

For the first time I entered some quilts in the county fair. My avatar quilt won best of show!! I haven't been there yet to see it. I will hopefully make it tomorrow to see if any of my other entries have won anything. I entered 5 things. One of my friends from my guild called to tell me.
I grilled some steak for dinner. We had grilled peaches for dessert.
