TeddyBearLady, that is really good. Thanks for the inspiration.

I'm going to look for 2 new recipes this morning. I have the Rosie cookbook - remember that chef of Oprah's that put out the cookbook several years ago. But her recipes are kind of time consuming. If I can't find anything that looks fast enough I may just go on-line to look for something. I'm cooking for one teen, one young adult, and two adults. I found a good recipe a couple of weeks ago that had rice mixed with green beans, topped with chicken and peaches. Yummy and pretty healthy. I don't like brown rice, though, so use white rice. That is probably the worst part of the recipe.??

I did really well with my water yesterday. I did my yoga class and then kept busy in the house cleaning and taking breaks to sew a little.

I got to spend most f the day sewing yesterday. I should have been cleaning the house but decided the h--- with it. I got most of a Tardis quilt my nephew is paying me to make FMQ. (tardis is from DR Who) I used an entire 500 yard spool of thread plus some of another color. I ran out of black thread so I figured it was time for bed. Hopefully I will finish quilting today ad get the label and binding done another day. I am anxious to start a new project.
My dad is pretty much no longer drinking anything. We are putting drops of water in his mouth with a syringe. Someone is spending the night every night to be with my mom. We are also cooking for my mom to save her the stress. I have been going over late morning since that works best for all of us. I end up eating lunch there every day. Not exactly diet friendly choices. I have started to pack my own lunch.
Cindy A you said you don't like brown rice. Have you tried brown jasmine rice? My family would never eat brown rice until I started making that kind. Trying to eat healthy. It is hard when I am constantly on the run. Heading to my spinning class today. Hopefully can make it to several classes this week.

Meanmom, you just take care of yourself right now. I know the stress you are under (been there) and eating healthy is not always easy during that. Do your best but don't worry about that, time will come for that. Big hugs for you. I would love to see your quilt when you can post it. It sounds fabulous.

I finally braved the scale this morning. I have lost another pound, lol, not brag worthy but at least I maintained & lost another one. On the plus side I have dropped below that 200 mark & kept it and have had to take in my shorts to keep them from falling. I hope to drop a size soon; I think I was pushing toward going up a size so it is taking me longer to drop a size. Celebrate what you can, right???

meanmom, no I have not tried the brown jasmine rice. I'll put it on my grocery list now. Thanks for the tip. And yes, like Dody said, take care of yourself. At least as well as you can at this point. Good thoughts going your way to help you and your family through this difficult time.

Anything is "brag worthy" in my book. I brag when I lose a tenth of a lb. haha At least it's going in the right direction. I'm getting measured again on Thursday. I've been down in inches about the same as my weight loss. I like about 2 lbs. having off 40 lbs. for the year. Can't wait to see my "inches" loss. My trouble with clothes now is deciding what to wear. Before any weight loss, I didn't have any choices...just whatever I could get on and not split. haha

meanmom, I've been reading about your Dad and I wanted to send a little support and let you know I'm thinking about you and your family. I know how hard it is to watch a parent slip away. I'm sure your exercise classes are helping you handle the stress. Take care.

Was gone most of yesterday on a woman's trip and today on a seniors day trip, so Taboo Tuesday is late - sorry.
Taboo Tuesday - when having a late lunch and not particularly hungry come dinner time, DO NOT, repeat DO NOT have only dessert for your dinner. Now, ask me why this is your weekly taboo!!

Kathleen that is a great taboo for the week. I have done that twice in the last week. Yes I can tell you why that is a bad idea too.
My dad passed away early yesterday morning. He was very comfortable and peaceful. We had Hospice there and they managed the meds for us. Fortunately my parents planned well and were able to afford to hire aides to help to take care of him during this time. It has been 5 weeks since he fell and hit his head. He is 89 years old an my parents just celebrated their 62nd anniversary. He had a long good life. I was there with my mom and 2 sisters. My 2 brothers were both out of town but had both been there earlier to say their goodbyes. I think all of the grandkids except my son will make it here for the funeral. My son is in Japan and the Navy only gives him a week to come. He is scheduled to come home in a couple of weeks anyway. We are busy planning the funeral etc. I am off to buy my DS a suit to wear as he is a pall bearer. Going to be tuff to buy as he won't be with me. I am going to guess at his size. (I have no idea how to buy a suit) I will probably bring home 3 of them and return 2. Thanks to everyone for their prayer and support. My Brother and SIL are coming to stay with me. Gotta clean the house.
I just want to get off this roller coaster and get back to normal.
