My DH has the Sony E-Reader touch. He LOVES it and occasionally I get to read a book on it. He wants to buy one for me now.

I bought my husband a Nook from Barnes and Noble last Christmas and HE LOVES IT. Easy to read, he has a ton of books on it at a time. I made him a quilted cover for it with a little pocket on the front to hold the charger. I understand now they even have a larger font available on the new ones for people with sight problems.

I love my Kindle! I have had it almost 2 years and it stays in my purse for easy access when I am waiting in the doctor's office, etc. Great book selection! Great screen presentation! I can't find anything I don't like about it.

I'm curious, what does a "book" cost to download...I go thru 2/3 books/week...trade with GF's and DH reads too so he brings them home from library....

They usually range between $9.95 to free. You can get a lot of the classics for free or very cheap. I seems to be according to how old the book is as to what the price is. Older books are cheaper. The brand new books out on the market usually run around $12-13 but most I get are around $9.95.

I researched all the e-readers and finally chose the Kindle and only because it will read to me when I get tired. I can just plug in the ear phones and it will read to me. I love it. In fact, when I embroider I listen to the kindle and when I finish, I will read from it. No waste of time here.

You know you can try it out for free. Go to Amazon.com and you can download a free Kindle directly onto your computer. There are lots of free ebooks as well.

I think you can also download the Nook to your computer. I have it as a free e-reader on this lappy...it came that way, but I think you can download from B&N..

I learned about this on this board..search for Kindle and there is a thread telling you how to download it to your computer for free.

I originallyl had a Sony E-reader. But the battery life was terrible. Hated it. Now I have the large Kindle & absolutely LOVE it. I thought I might have trouble because I like the feel of a good book. But just got back from vacation & it was heaven not to lug books in the backpack. I finished 3 novels while on vacation with most of my reading out by the pool. And I can obtain new titles wirelessly anywhere. No internet connection necessary. I recommend the Kindle.
