Be careful--sometimes kittens can get the runs from eating human food--milk and such. Getting some mild cat food would be good. Then of coarse getting formula as soon as possible. I grew up on a farm and we always watered down the milk we fed any kind of baby.

I found some kittem formula! My friends' cousin had a few cans left over from a litter of kittens that she had that the mommy didn't have enough milk for.(she breeds Siamese) It a couple of months old, but the expiration date on it is still good and it's cans so it should be fine.

I'm going to run by there and pick them up in a little while. Even with them eating, she says that we should still give them formula, too, for another week or so.

She also said that about cow's milk, too, the same thing that CarrieAnn said, they usually can't tolerate when they are this young.

I kind of wish that they would have left them with the mommy a little longer. But, the guys figured as long as they could eat, they would be better off with people than in the coal mines. He said the mommy was sooooo skinny, too. One of the other guys was going to take her, but there was kind of a dispute over that, LOL! Some wanted to leave her at the mines since she's been living there, kinda like their "mascot" or something. I don't know what they wound up doing, my husband left before they figured it out.

My husband is an underground coal miner. There had been this cat running around up there for the last year. It was wild, wouldn't let anyone touch it or even get near it. So, the miners would leave food for it, and all the miners started bringing cat food for it.

It winds up pregnant, and still won't let anyone anywhere near it. It has the kittens. They looked everywhere for them, and couldn't find them anywhere. She was a wiley mommy, she hid them well.

Fast forward a 4-5 weeks and the kittens started coming out! She had them down inside this concrete block like thing. They found 6 kittens.

Ok, now here's the funny thing. They found another mommy cat ran over in the road in front of their mines. They looked and looked for her kittens and couldn't find them anywhere.

A few days later, they go back to try to see the kittens, and there were 10 kittens now! They think that mommy cat #1 got the dead mommy's kittens and is taking care of them!

The kittens were eating good, so they all decide to take them home. My husband got 3. BUT, they are TINY. I think they were too small to take from the mommy, really. Two of them are eating great, like little pigs, the other one is really skittish and isn't eating at all. I'm going to try a dropper with milk, and see how that goes. It may be sick, poor thing.

The little white one is so TINY! Its about a fourth of the size of the other two. Its so sweet, its played with me all morning! They've(the kids) named it "Diamond", because coal turns into diamonds. Poor little thing was covered in coal dust when they got here.

Now, I've got to find some homes. I can't keep them all 3! But, I really want to, lOL!
Try some baby food rice cereal I mix this up with a litttle powdered milk for the kitten also add a little karo suyrp to the cereal. It will help to sweeten the mixture to get the kitten to eat it.
.They have powdered milk for animals . When they have lost there mommy.
Could the smaller kitten be from the other cat qnd younger then the other littler.

I have had a cat from across the street having her kitten under my house.
I could never get her or her kittens to come to me or let me get close.
When the kitten got to active at about 6 to 8 week she would take them back across the street.
Even through the kitten were young they still had the wild trait
and wouldn't let me get near them.
If the guys had waited the mommy kitty could have taken them some where else then the men wouldn't have been able to get to them.
By the men getting them now. You know they will get home's and live.
I wish I lived close I would have taken one to help feed. They have to eat every few hours. Good luck

Cute little kittens.
I have bought Puppy formula at PetCo. Do you have a pet shop around you anywhere? They just may carry some

So glad that they're all eating now. It could've just been that poor guy was too scared.

They were in a catch 22...too young to take, but if they weren't taken then, they would have been too wild to take. They are so cute...I hope they will be okay! :D
