Default Las Vegas

My husband and I are going to Vegas and we will end up having a rental car. Anyone know of any must see quilting shops? Also interested in eating off the strip if anyone has recommendations. Thanks

We only have 2 quilt shops here. both very good. Christma Goose and Quiltique, both about 20 - 30 min from the strip in different directions. Also 2 Joannes and 2 Hancocks. Lots to do & see here also a lot of free stuff. make sure you go visit Red Rock State park less then 1 hr from strip, can hit Christmas on way out. Other direction is Quiltique on way to Hoover/boulder dam. Red Rock and Dam about 1 hrs drive from strip. Enjoy our city.

Try to go to Springs Preserve - it's not too far from the Strip. Also, go to the Linq - there are some good places to eat there as well as going on the High Roller. Pizza from Flour and Barley, cupcakes at Sprinkles, cream puffs from Beard Papa's.

There is the water show and the Conservatory at the Bellagio - both are free. There is currently a Fabrege egg exhibit at the Bellagio museum (not free). Also, check out the Valley of Fire - it's north of LV.

The SLS has a couple of good restaurants - Katsuya and Bazaar Meat (up for a James Beard award) [it is at the north end of the strip - used to be the Sahara]. There are some places down at Town Square - the south end of the strip (Tommy Bahamas, Brio).

I know others, but it depends where you are staying, how far do you want to drive, and how long will you be here.

A couple years ago I found a tour company and she set up half day or all day tour of only quilt shops. I can't remember the name of her company but I'm sure if you googled it you would find it. It was fun and went to some very nice shops, one of which was the Christmas Goose.

MY son works at the Vegas Indoor Sky Diving Club. It is very safe and is all done inside---no airplanes. I am dying to get out there to see him and try flying. He has flown some very famous people and also an 84 year old man. I know that it is a bit pricey but might be something to consider... I would love to go!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are so inclined,,,,go for it!!!!!!!!!!

There is quilt tour company in Las Vegas listed in the phone book, that does the Las Vegas area. I highly recommend it for those with no rental car. I did the tour ago a few years ago. Since then we have retired in Las Vegas.
If you have a rental car, a 1.5 hour drive north to St. George, UT has EIGHT lovely quilt stores, my THREE favorite stores are CLOVER PATCH, Superior Threads and Ace Hardware!-- they carry lot of the quality fabric lines. The other stores are a must too, as each has its own special feature.
