    Halters are on!! :D
Mazie in front--Tucker behind in the first one. Tucker's darker.

Tucker--the horse fourm folks are unsure about his color--grullo, buckskin, or smokey black? Might have to wait until his clipped to know for sure, but it's too chilly for that.

And here's Jazz, Rosie and Whisper for Terri.

Rosie's sure taller than her daddy.

    They look great in green!

Man Rosie is a good bit taller than Jazz! What a pretty driving mare she'd be! :) They are obviously flourishing under your care!

Izy--oh yes--I'm a sucker for flaxen eyelashes. Her mother was the first mini I purchased. After the woman had taken us to every horse on her farm, I said please take me back to the one with the eyelashes.... and the rest is history. :D

    Angie--Rosie will be a ground driver... :D

It's not easy :( --but I get up plenty early to give myself time to play in the morning so I don't feel so badly about leaving. (Up at 5:00, and don't have to leave for school until 7:30) I can't wait for the last day of school: June 25th. Can we celebrate then? :D

I haven't quilted a stitch since the foals arrived. I can't dig up any enthusiasm for sitting at my sewing machine when there are so many horses to play with (and clean up after, and feed, and groom). Once summer comes (no school), I'll have enough time for both!

Terri--horses like to have a job. And when she's with me, she's happy no matter what we're doing. It's an adventure.

Karla-I just love it when you post pics of your horses. In fact, any day when there are no new pics, I just go back and look at an old thread.

Mazie and Tucker look adorable in their halters and I am totally in love with Mazie's eyelashes too. I love the first pic where it looks like Tucker is trying to give Mazie a hug---too cute!

Oh, and since I know nothing about horses at all-what is a "ground driver"?

Karla, if it was the 'olden days' I'd send you some film....maybe you'd like some batteries to keep giving us our 'foal fixes'??

Looks like too much fun at your house.

Mazie and Tucker look like they're thinking, "Mom's playing dress up with us again!"

Thanks for sharing your cuties with us.

 Ha--thanks, Sue. But I'd take the pics anyway. Your replies make it all worth the time to post. The joy goes both ways. :D

I got so much done tonight... after school I stopped for a quilting magazine because a shop an hour away is featured in it. Patchwork Plus!

Then I made up stalls, measured feed, and got the horses in because the farrier was coming. I got the pastures cleaned--halters on babies--then filled four fly traps with the attractant stuff and got them hung around the pastures. Then the farrier came for the foals first trim. He came into each stall. First was Mazie--she stood like a little trooper and let him hold her feet up for a quick check. (We've been practicing!) She tried to kick out with one back leg--and was angelic for the rest. Then Tucker.   He was sleeping--but not flat out. So the farrier checked the hooves he could see, then gently pushed him over to his side--and I scratched his belly while he got his hooves checked!   They didn't need trimming or rasping, so this was the easiest (and cheapest) farrier visit I've ever had. :D He'll come back in a month to check them again--foals need frequent checks--and I'm sure things will be more lively next time.

Then I got horses back out into this most beautiful night, dug up more Buttercups from the back pastures, picked up stalls, then took my Rosie girl for a long walk in the old soybean field and down the lane. She's always a spitfire for the first 5-10 minutes, then she settles right down.

Then I played with the foals! Both came up for scratches--so I was using both hands to keep everyone happy. Tucker nickered for me several times tonight. He's a good boy--really calming down. He and Mazie are together a lot more now. That will be a good photo shoot goal for next weekend.

I need to get the dishes done, grade a few papers, get the horses in, clean up their pastures, then I bet I'll be ready for bed.
