I got one from Sam's Club once that never lost its smell either...needless to say it is no longer in my house!

I would return it, by the time you keep doing this, it will be an old look new bedspread, and who knows what is in it even if the smell goes away

Thanks ladies for all your help. I think I will go back to the store today, and sniff another bedspread. (Don't think I have ever written such a strange sentence in all my life!! LOL) If it smells the same, I'll return the one I already have. Patski is correct, I might end up with a bedspread that looks "used" and then they won't take it back anyway.

Agreed. On a damp day, or after a few days of not having windows open or a/c running to keep the air circulating, betcha the smell will come back. I'd take it all back.
