We saw it and thought it was wonderful. The 2.5 hours passed quickly for us. I ran out of popcorn early.

We want to see it too. We happened to be visiting Richmond VA in november 2011 and we wanted to see the state capitol but we found out that Spielberg and his "crew" were in town with their huge equipment and trailors etc.... ever since, we decided we HAD to see it... Glad to read your positive comments. with each trip to USA and being canadian, we are learning more and more about the US fascinating history.

Thanks for all the great feedback! We will go see it when it comes to our local theater.

I have been wanting to see it, but it is not showing locally. The local theater said they could have gotten it if they had 16 screens, I think they have 12. I didn't want to travel 35 miles to get where it is.

I hope it is still playing at the theater near us in FL when we get there.

It was a great movie and I was glad to see that it had shots showing lots of tapestries and fabrics. Mary Todd Lincoln was obsessive about buying fabrics, lace, etc and ended up in serious debt with her overspending. I had recently learned of a great scandal involving Lincoln and the Union Pacific transcontinental railroad. Google Crédit Mobilier scandal. I was glad that they didn't bring any of those up and also that they didn't do a gruesome death scene like so many productions tend to like. I mean, if you can't trust Honest Abe, who can you trust?

I've seen it twice - once with my mother on Thanksgiving Day while my husband stayed home to watch football. I knew he would love to see it too, so went back with him. Great movie.

This is one of the few movies that I really want to see. Can hardly wait to be able to afford it.

It is the FASTEST 2.5 hours! Captivating from the first second. We loved it. Everyone should see it. I did not realize that it ran 2.5 hours until I read the above post. I had to verify it before I posted. A must see!

Our little 4 screen theatre has it. it has been showing the move since the movie opened! Your theatre probably did not want to pay for it or was unable to get access to it. Hopefully they will, eventually. Size of theatre is not the issue. $$$ and availability of the film is.

Helou, thanks for posting the pics! It IS fun to see a movie you were so close to the filming of, isn't it? I did not know they were doing that filming in 2011, and I live in VA, so thanks again for posting! Can't wait to go see the movie soon.
