I agree young kids should know their parents name and where they work. But I would not tolerate any debating when I told my kids no. He's s super cute but may not be so cute debating his parents at age 12 to get his way.

While I don't agree with her letting him get away with that type of behavior. I just thought we would get a giggle out of seeing it.
My two older kids called me by my first name for a long time. Then it stopped and I was called Mom after that.

I don't agree with the first name thing , they can be called Mr /Mrs whatever ,and he could be taught a phone number , but (this is just my opinion) he was an obnoxious child , with no manners whatsoever . I cannot help but feel his parents will pay for their weak parenting further down the line . All children have a voice , but not a demanding ,interupting one , and he should be taught how to express himself properly I think .As I said .......just my opinion

As a retired teacher and Mom of 2 boys, I can say this Mom, "Linda honey" is in for a world of difficulty in years to come. There should be boundaries between adults and children, and this child should know who has the final word. (It shouldn't be him!) And no, I don't agree with spanking. It only teaches that the person who is bigger or has more authority has the power to hurt physically. There are other ways to discipline that don't humiliate. Yes, children should be listened to, always, but they should not control the situation as this child does. I understand the kid knowing their names, but he should not be using them the way he does. Just my opinion.

Boy is this mom headed down the wrong path. More of those PaPaws on the butt is exactly what he needs. He is cute and is a great talker for his age. I see him into all kinds of mischief as he gets older and lying about it to his "Linda, honey". He has no respect for his parents at 3! This will only get worse. He needs time out and instruction from his parents, no debate, no arguments. Would love to see this mom on Dr. Phil!

Also, I showed it to my son, and he said the first thing I thought: the kid must be repeating what he hears his father say. Interesting that that occurred to both of us.
