Default Looking for a split skirt/culottes pattern in plus sizes...

I have toured the web looking for a free plus size split skirt or culottes pattern and have had little success I am not looking for an ankle length skirt, but knee length instead. I really don't want to spend $10 + on a pattern... I plan on doing some traveling this summer and thought that a pants skirt would be soooooo comfortable!

    Thanks!

Have you tried Googling free ghoucho pant pattern? I think that's what they were called years ago?

In addition to gaucho, try searching palazzo pants, you can adapt the length to suit you easily- here's an ehow article: http://www.ehow.com/how_7181479_make-palazzo-pants.html

Hobby Lobby has Simplicity patterns for $.99 this week ... ends Saturday 4/14. Hancock's will have McCall's patterns for $.99 April 19 - 22. I can't find JoAnn's coupons but some of their patterns should be on sale also during their next sale. If none of these work, download a coupon or add from any of these and take it to Wal Mart - they will honor it.
Culottes or gauncho's or whatever you want to call them are so much easier to make with a pattern.

I also have a culotte pattern that I cut off a pair of well-fitting ready made ones and have used it for many years since I wear them all summer long. It is a size 22 but easily adjusted to a different size since it has a panel on the side that can be cut larger or smaller. Be glad to share if its anywhere near the right size for you--just email and let me know.

Ladies at my church use a shorts pattern to make culottes. They lengthen the leg as needed so that it's knee length or slightly longer. They add 3" to each of the 4 pattern pieces (along the outside leg seam). Then they make a box pleat along the front and back center seam. If you need more detail, I can get more specific instructions from a friend.

Hancock had Butterick on sale last week. My Hancock is 30 miles away. Called Joann's and asked if they took Hancock coupons. Yes. Then asked if I made a copy of flyer from internet site would they honor. Yes. So go to the websites of the stores you know have patterns on sale and see if they take each others coupons and you can print them. Worth a try.
