Default March 2012 Weight Loss Adventure With A Prize!

On March 1st weigh yourself and write it down. Do NOT send it to me. On March 31st weigh yourself again and PM me with your loss. This is weight lost not % lost. I will announce the winner April 2nd.

PM me for address. FQ’s need to be received no later than the 10th of month.

You cannot win 2 months in a row.

Chit chat is allowed, as well as WAYWO, (what are we working on). Please stay positive and uplifting as that is what keeps us on track. Come to this thread for tips, recipes, encouragement and {{{{HUGS}}}}}}

The prize is a themed FQ. At the end of the month, I will mail all the FQ’s received to the winner by the 5th of the month. I will contact the winner and announce the winner with the number of FQ’s they will receive.

February is the time for love. This month's theme is sender’s choice. Please send quality what you would want to receive. As always if you cannot send the theme fabric please send what you have. If you don't have a FQ, send a linear 1/4 yard. If you have signed up to be in the competition, please send the FQ to hostess by the 10th of the month. The winner has worked hard for this reward.

Eat healthy, exercise, try and lose weight but most of all have fun!!!!!!!!!!!

Sign up deadline to be included in the Prize Adventure is March 3rd at 9 p.m. CST, with your FQ received by the 10th of month. You can always contribute to the thread, but it is only fair to have a cutoff for those trying to win.

TO PARTICIPATE, JUST SIGN IN HERE ON THIS THREAD BEFORE MARCH 3RD. THERE IS NO NEED TO PM FOR PARTICIPATION, JUST YOUR ENDING WEIGHT LOSS FOR THE MONTH.

You must sign into the thread at least weekly to be eligible for the winning "skinny quarters" or to be declared "best loser for the month."

I'm in, too. I think March's FQ is something in pastels and I am getting mine out early this month.

A new low calorie recipe? That will take some thinking. I don't use artificial sweeteners or margarines so low cal isn't always in my mind. I'm good at lowering calories in baked goods by reducing the butter and sugar, but I wouldn't call the recipes low cal. I made the fried food taboo. I'll take my cyber gold star, please.

I managed to eat something with wheat at a potluck last night and have been ill today. I'm now functional but not very talkative. I need to go to bed at a decent time. I have to run some errands tomorrow - we have an ice storm coming tomorrow night and I need to get my car tags and some dog food. 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ice will bring down power lines. I hate that.

Have a good evening.

I had a PM from a member who has asked me for what the themes will be for 3 months. I will be happy to share that and have no problem getting FQ's early. IF you send multiply months, it will still be your responsiblity to sign up in the new thread each month.

march - pastels
April - brights
May - anything that reminds you of summer

I'm in for March. My goal for March will be to increase my exercise sessions and do more moving around. Tonite I'm getting ready for our first real winter storm this winter. Wind's been increasing off Lake Superior so I think this will be a good storm.

I'm in for the weight loss! Total for February was 3 pounds and I am very happy!

My exercise is going so well, but, boy, do I have knees!! They pop and crackle and ache. I just started taking Gluc/Chroindotin (sp?) and I hope that will decrease the pain. Each week I have been increasing the intensity, I am now up to 1/2 mile x2 at 2.2 mph and 8 min on the arm thingy at 2.0. It is so intense for me I am wringing wet when I finish. I still do weight work too, just 2 exercises of 15 reps at 2 pounds.

My blood sugar has been normal all month and my blood pressure is way down. Such good results.

My breathing? I really don't know. Yesterday I worked too hard and had to stop for a rest, I got light-headed during the workout. I see the lung doc April 3 so I will know results then.

I finally found my setting pattern for my gfg blocks, so I hope to start joining the "flowers" soon.

Lo-cal recipe, that will be a challenge. I grill tilapia on my George Forman, no fat at all, just lemon pepper. Not a new recipe to anyone but definitely delicious and low calorie, 90 cals per serving.

Does anyone know the glycemic index for split pea soup?
I make it with chicken broth, ham powdered flavoring, split peas, and bay leaf. I stir in 1 T of light sour cream before serving. 140 cals per serving. Last night I had 2 bowls, this morning my blood sugar was 209, not the usual number. Is the split pea soup the culprit? I didn't eat any snacks or sweets...
