my starting weight this month is 186lbs. I went and worked out today. That makes me down 10lbs for February. There are a few with higher weight loss for February. I am going to wait until the 4th before announcing a winner since we have had the torandos go through, to give anyone in those areas a chance to respond.

Prayers going out to the victims of this devastation.

Happy Birthday, Judy! I hope you have a fantastic day!

Today I weighed in at the doctor's office and next month I see him on the 3rd so I will weigh in then. I'm in for the support but not the skinny quarter challenge. My weight today was 277, and I wish so much to be back in the 60's again!

My INR was 4.1 so I was sent home to bed rest and no exercise until Monday. My blood sugar crashed again last night so I am balancing that act, too. Ugh! The medical challenges are a pain!

Because my blood is so thin I get to eat a can of spinach this weekend, not my favorite, but I am going to attempt the florentine sauce they make at Ruby Tuesday's for the top of my fish for tonight and tomorrow night.

Judy, I love the quilt. Inspires me.

Meanmom, the smoked turkey leg sounds delicious; I'll have to look for one when I'm shopping tomorrow.

Cindy, that is an awesome weight loss.

I hope I make 5 lbs this month. Anybody want to challenge?

Welcome back Lawson, blonde, jlw...

Thank You .I;m glad your doing better.I'm on coumadin and know what a juggling act that is. Also a diabetic.seems you get one under control and the other goes wrong. Good Luck.Any green leafy veggie will help thicken your blood.lettuces, bok choy, swiss chard etc. I tend to eat to many of them. Mary

I'm back in for this month too. I am so disgusted with myself. I lost exactly 1 lb in Feb. I should be doing so much better & I only have myself to blame.....ok, pity party over..... I signed up for MyFitnessPal & now can track everything I eat on my phone. I know I need to keep track of what I eat in order to lose- Duh, no wonder my loss is so dismal!! Estimating has never done it for me!

Happy Birthday Irishrose! Have a great time out to dinner! Your GD's quilt sure is cute. She did a nice job. I am making a similar square in a square quilt for my Daughter's best friend's 21st Bday. I finished quilting it yesterday & just have the binding to do.

Great weight loss Cindy! I am about at the same weight as you.

MJ, it must be so difficult to lose with so many medical obstacles. You have been doing well- especially with all of that exercise & I admire your attitude! I love fresh spinach- can you eat that instead of canned?

Meanmom, that smoked turkey leg does sound good instead of ham. I'll have to try that. I love split pea soup.

I am off to make dinner. I'll have to think of a good low cal recipe to post. With all of my dieting endeavors over the years I should have some kind of recipe around.

Welcome back everyone & welcome aboard to anyone just joining for the month!

I'd love to be back in this month. February was not good to me like January was, with a 3.6 pound loss compared to over 10! And dang it, I deserved more.

I had such a great time over the weekend. My quilting buddy came over and we took a ferry to Bainbridge Island, WA for the anniversary party at McKenna Ryan's studio. Wow, it was fun! I don't know if it's just the McKenna magic but there were stellar jays and chipmunks playing around the entry to the studio when we arrived. Inside nearly all of her quilts were displayed and believe me, they are incredibly more gorgeous in person than in photos. She showed us patterns she is working on right now which were still on the layout boards being assembled. They are medium size wall hangings and she told us that they are planning to have those patterns downloadable! We also were shown a new quilt that isn't out yet, a beautiful collection of game birds (pheasants, quail). She also re-made Petals of My Heart in brighter colors and it was stunning. My friend won a drawing, and we both left with patterns and fabric galore!

If you are not familiar with her art quilts, her site is: pineneedles.com

Anyway, hoping better results in March. Thanks for letting me try along with the rest of you losers! (;

I wont be online much tomorrow as I have to take dad in for several procedures tomorrow. Then this is my first weekend back on my normal schedule. I will be working from Saturday to Monday. then off for about 5 days. I have worked 2 days in a row since going back, just not the 3 days. I am sure I will exhausted come Monday night.

Have a good weekend.

Mj, I have recently fallen in love with cooked spinach. I don't like the canned or frozen stuff. I take the fresh spinach and chop it up. I either cook a little onion, peppers and garlic in cooking spray then add the spinach when it is cooked. Only takes a few minutes. The other way we like it is a little high in sodium but good. Toast some sesame seeds. Cook fresh spinach when done add a little soy sauce and a few drops of sesame oil. YUM! Any other suggestions of ways to cook other greens would be appreciated.

I think I would like to join this group. I am working really hard to loose some weight. I lost 45# on weight watchers about 16 years ago. It came back and brought 15 or 20 of it's friends. Then about 7 years ago I did the Dr. Atkins diet and lost 75#. Of course when it came home it had 20 or so of it's friends with it. This time I am just going slow. No real changes to what I eat, just when and how much. I lost 17 or 18 pounds in Feb. If I can loose a pound or two a week, I will be extatic!! I am hoping that the encouragement and commoradery of this thread will help keep me going! Irish, we are practically neighbors. I am in the thumb of Michigan. I get over to the other side of the state once in a while, maybe we could have coffee sometime.
