The picture reminds me of when I joined WW one time. I didn't have much to lose and set my target weight too low, but being stubborn I was determined to make it, not reset it. When I got close and couldn't lose the last pound, I cut my hair and wore absolutely nothing but a sundress - dark colored, of course. I made goal that night and reset my goal to 7 pounds heavier. Now my goal is my 'old' starting weight.

I lost a pound yesterday- mostly because I was working too much to worry about food and my pantry is blocked so I couldn't get to the cookies, my freezer was covered in paint cans so I couldn't get to the ice cream, etc.

Last Monday, the kitchen and laundry room flooded again. What??? That's a new water softener!! My son called it - he said to tell my repairman not to buy any new hoses just because it seemed to have something to do with the hoses - "Your drain is frozen" Yup. Trouble is many gallons of water ruined part of the new flooring. 27 degrees below weather is hard on incoming and out going water lines. I won't complain - many people have no water and won't have until the frost is out of the ground. It's down over 70" in some areas. John and I will get this figured out. Just waiting for the sub floor to dry - I can't put a diesel fueled heater under my house. Too scary. In the mean time, I can paint the parts of the kitchen I can get to and the family room furniture goes back tomorrow - Yoohoo!!!

I also am revising my black and red quilt and I want to get that settled before I pack it up.

laurieio, massages are not in my budget, but neither is having this torn rotator cuff turn into a frozen shoulder (again). Thank goodness for b'day money - and a lot of children.

I AM losing weight and getting healthier.

Boy I thought our weather was bad, but frost down to 70" is scary! Why is it that home renovations/repairs never go smoothly? Health care is definitely a juggling act anymore.

I think every town in the county is on a run water rule. I heard of several people tonight whose wells are frozen and need to be replaced, but, of course, no well digger can do anything until spring. I repeat: having to replace a section of floor covering is no big deal. I am just so tired of living in a mess, but I will survive.

Tired with sore legs tonight and I have to get the family room ready for furniture. Walking the dogs was not fun - I took them downtown thinking the merchants would have the sidewalks cleared - NOT! I hadn't used the new crosswalks yet. My skittish dog was not impressed when a monotone male voice kept saying, "Wait." Both dogs know that command so they froze, but Lily kept looking around to see who was speaking. Moira didn't care - she just planted her little butt and waited.

Judy, sorry to hear about the water damage. I know what you are going through. Been there 3 times.
Frozen water pipes have been a huge problem here, too. In town especially. Seems like the problems in the country (where I live) is people in split level homes where maybe their pipes aren't as deep in the ground. I live in a 2 story and we haven't had a problem.
Just listening to the Today Show about the missing plane. First "news" I have heard about it. Just heard the headline while in France.
We had a great time on our trip. Saw all the major sights and walked many, many miles. In fact, my thighs and butt have much less jiggle. Woohoo! I may have ended up losing weight. Have to wait a couple of days to tell. I forced myself to stay up until 8 pm last night and slept until 7:15. Hoping for no jet lag symptoms. It is a myth about smaller food portions in France. Just as big as here.
Looks like we still have 2-3 feet of snow in our yard. High of 46 today might take it down and inch or two. Another storm coming in tonight. Oh boy.

Oh goodness you poor folks here. We have lots of rain today with a 40 degree high which is so nice. It is not to actually "freeze", but if it does, we are in a hill of ants for driving in the am. Thank you all for the well wishes on me winning last month incase you did not get my thank you. This month's goal is 13 pounds. One of my dd will be exercising with me and keeping me on track. I think it can be done if I do increase the physical movement. That seems to be my key to loosing even though I would rather quilt. It is getting down to the wire on graduation. So many little things to get done. Working on getting the head out of the clouds and down to earth to make progress. At least DH is painting some of the house. Glad I don't have flood damage to repair, just painting to get done and moving furniture and cable. Oh boy, so much fun for sure.

Glad to hear your trip went will Pam. I would love to see a few pics. We had a beautiful day on Friday and I spent the whole day in the ER with my dad. Then yesterday and especially today we had beautiful weather and I spent it sick as a dog. Now tomorrow we are supposed to get a winter storm.

I would love to show you my France pics but I took them with my regular camera and it is a pain to reduce the size of each one to post on here. I have them on facebook. Are you on there? If you pm me your info I will friend you. The last time I posted a link here to my fb pics they were taken down. I guess that is not allowed. I really don't see why.

Here's a great, healthy way to make popcorn.

[h=2]Did you know that popcorn is considered a whole grain? Yup, because you eat the entire corn kernel, outer bran and all, popcorn fits the definition of a whole grain. "Naked" (air-popped) popcorn is a high-volume, super low-cal snack. Each cup provides more than a gram of fiber and just 30 calories. If you don't have an air popper, don't feel the need to go out and buy one. Just toss two tablespoons of kernels into a paper lunch bag, mist with cooking spray, fold the bag over twice to seal, and give it a good shake. Pop it in the microwave for about 90 seconds on high (watch and listen closely, and stop when you don't hear any popping for a couple of seconds) and — voilá! You have air-popped popcorn![/h]

Oh Judy, sorry about your mess. I hope you get it cleaned up soon. Not that I am a clean freak but I hate having the house all torn up. Pam the trip sounds wonderful. Glad you had a good time.
I had a Dr appointment today, just a regular checkup. I was sure my blood pressure would be high.It is usually borderline high. It was the lowest it has been in ages. One of my kids was awful. We spent part of the afternoon in the principals office because he told a girl he was going to kill her mom and her grandma. He got 2 days recess and lunch detention. He was rotten most of the day. The other 2 are just so ADD it is awful. Their parents just refuse to see it. They can't even sit in a chair.
I made an egg dish for dinner that was really good. Healthy too. I found it on Pintrest. Not sure my DH would eat it. I put some spinach in a casserole, top it with sliced avocado, laughing cow cheese, an egg and more cheese. Bacon is optional. You put 1 tbsp of half and half on it and bake at 400 for 20 minutes. LOts of veggies, delicious.
