Where is everyone? I have been gone at my retreat all weekend and hardly anyone has posted. The retreat was awesome as always. We are trying to fix up a girls weekend in October to quilt, knit, read or whatever. The guild only has 1 retreat a year. I can't get near the scale they feed us so well. We alway have caramel rolls for breakfast on Sunday and they are swimming in caramel. German chocolate cake for lunch. There were 56 of us there this year. I made a professional tote and sewed all of the hexagons for a one block wonder quilt. I need to play with it on my design wall to finish it. I will have to put it aside since I need to get my sample made for guild on April 9th since I am teaching. We are demoing 1 pre-cut project a month and I have April. I haven't started. I have 2 Kaffe Fasset jelly rolls and going to do the quilt from 3 Dudes. I wanted to do the falling hexagon quilt but that will take longer so I will do that one next time in November. Also someone else was supposed to do a demo on making labels in April ( we reserved a special room for it) and she is trying to back out. That means I need to teach how to paper piece too. ARGH!
I need to get serious about cleaning up my diet. A good friend was hypnotised for weight loss and has lost 25 pounds. She said a lot of bad food don't even really interest her anymore. I might look in to it.

Glad retreat was fun, Pat!! You needed it.

My DH and I just had a day trip and it was so good to get away. It was pretty dreary and grey most of the day but the sun came out for the drive home. We also had time to stop at a mall on the way home and he got some casual work clothes for his new job. We found some really good deals - I can't plan that (neither of us like to clothes shop) but am really happy we lucked into it.

I have 4 back-to-back meetings on Tuesday and have been stress eating while I get all my paperwork in order for them. The meetings should be over by 1:00 and then I'll have my students until almost 4:00. It's going to be a long day, but I know I'll be glad when I get it all done. I'm just hoping the snow that is predicted does NOT come, it takes too long to reschedule all the people that need to be at the meetings.

By Wed., I hope I'm back to healthy eating.

Sounds like you got a lot done at your retreat, Pat. Good for you!
We have 8 days left in this month. Who is going to win those batiks? I would love to but it doesn't look likely at this point.
DH and I took Allie to a lambing farm yesterday. So much fun! So many baby lambs and goats and chicks. Also baby pigs and a baby pony (maybe a Shetland). There were a few chickens running around too. They had a couple of huge horses outside pulling a big wagon and giving people rides. Could have been a little more enjoyable if it had been warmer than 19. One set of twin goats were only 2 hours old!
Not much sewing going on here. I did manage to finish my mystery quilt (table topper). I also got a baby quilt finished. I need to get a label on it and get it in the mail. One more baby quilt to go this spring. Hopefully sometime soon I can get started on a king size quilt for my bed.

Pam, would love to see pictures of your lambing farm visit!!!

I'm not going to tell you all what I had for breakfast. Still plan on being back on track Wed morning. I will at least work on staying hydrated over the next two days and I have my yoga class Tuesday night. I'll need that, my shoulders are SO tense.

Pam the visit to the lambing farm sounds so fun. I am back on track this morning after a really bad eating weekend. I am heading up to jump onto my elliptical as soon as I finish paying my bills. I also need to get our taxes and business taxes ready to take to our accountant some time today.
Here is the professional tote I made on retreat. I lined it with orange. I have made several of these. This one is mine. I also made all of the blocks for a one block wonder. I hope to get it up on my design wall today. I usually need to look at it for several days until I am happy with the arrangement.

Oh my I am so impressed with how much you got done on retreat! The tote is beautiful. My eating hasn't been too bad this month, but my movement has been almost nil. The stiffness and joint pain have been worse this month than any other month this winter. I think it is the constant up and down of temps. I think it is also why I haven't been posting as much. It's hard to think of what to say since I am either in pain or foggy. Although even with the lack of movement I have still lost a couple more pounds. When I take the pain meds I am not hungry, and when I don't I am so uncomfortable I am not interested in eating. Hmmm maybe I have found a new diet plan!

I am new to the Quilting board, just joined this weekend. Is this community supported weight loss journey on going, month by month or was it just for March? I would love to join. I had a recent knee injury with subsequent surgery and unfortunately my lack of activity has set me back some. Looking forward to reading replies.

Welcome to the board, mateoh! This weight loss group goes month to month. You sign up at the beginning of the month and send in a fat quarter according to the monthly theme. The person who loses the most weight wins all the fat quarters. We are here for support and motivation. Sometimes we even share pictures of what we are sewing. Please hang out with us. Near the end of the month there will be a link to take you to the next month's post.

Hi Pam, Thanks for the warm welcome. Where in Wisconsin are you? We lived in Ashland, WI for 25 years prior to moving to Texas 13 years ago. How I miss the changing seasons and even the cold. LOL

I am in the Eau Claire area. You can be very glad you missed this winter that will not end. It is snowing very hard right now. Yuck! I spent 6 winters in Round Rock while my hubby was working in Austin. There are a lot of things I miss from there but I have a granddaughter now and could not stand to be away from her.
