I have hearing aids so elastic over ears really bother me. Ì use pony tail holders, attach about 3 inches of matching bias tape to ponytail holders, then sew hook & loop tape ( 1 inch) to each bias tape. This works best for my needs. Am wanting to ty the 3D ones now, thanks for starting this link

I also tend to unhook my hearing aids when taking the ear loops off my ears.

I worry about losing my hearing aids.

True4uca you might Google mask ear savers. You can sew them with 2 buttons so the loops go over the button.

I've been using non-woven interfacing - being careful not to put pinholes through the center of the piece that goes over the mouth and nose - which seems to me to be more practical than attempting to insert some sort of filter. I either fuse it to the outer layer or sew it to the outer layer.

I had DH buy some vacuum cleaner bags - but then read that using them is a bad idea.
I have read that blue shop towels are effective filters. One group did a study on the size of particles that are filtered through different material and shop towels did very well. You can find them at auto and hardware stores.

Default Thin Blue Line Mask

Does anyone have a pattern on how to make A Thin Blue Line mask or a web site that I can go to?

Thanks.

I would piece my fabric as a rectangle, the size I needed for the mask, and then cut out the mask and proceed as normal.

If you have an embroidery machine, I might embroider that on the front of a white mask. I would think that masks in a solid colour to match the uniform would be welcome. If you want to pass on the saying, just put in a piece of paper with the mask

That's just the way I need to do it. Thanks for the suggestion.

This is really comfortable and allows a personalized fit.
I'm using 1/2" bias tape for a channel for nose wire. A narrow zig-zag is all that's needed to sew it in. It can be added to almost any finished mask. I'm using pieces of pipe cleaners as wires. Cut it a little longer than channel and it's easily removable for laundering the mask.
I'm praying that this virus will soon be under control.
I started using tee shirt strips for ear pieces, too. Once the mask is in place, the knit curls so it looks round. A strip about 3/4" wide curls up nicely, and is strong enough to hold the mask in place. And is very soft on the skin.
