I've lost count of the amount of masks that have been made now but the feedback from the masses around here, is that they seem to prefer the 2-ply non-surgical style in plain solid colours (medium to dark) using 1/8" elastic.
I offer various styles of mask but these are what are asked for time & time again from returning & new customers in my area. I also offer in-between sizes of the S / M / L which i'm told is an added bonus
Nice that fabric, etc is is easy to get again.

I recently ordered a bag of those stretchy cotton loops that kids use on a loom to make pot holders -- know what I mean? I cut about 1" off each one, and it makes a really soft over-the-ear wrap instead of using elastic. This can be for a pleated mask where you sew the elastic inside and then turn, or a 'shell' mask that is sewn top and bottom, turned, and then the ends sewn closed. I have long ago forgotten the names of any patterns!

Anyone still making masks now that they are easy to find in the stores?
I have bought packages of the washable up to six times masks, and the disposable ones of different brands to find the most comfortable and easy to breath through. We like the washable ones for long wear and the disposable ones for short trips inside stores. I buy a box with each shopping trip so we have a good supply to last for a long time. DH bought several of the gator neck wraps. (He has many in his hunting supplies but they are made for different hunts.) The ones being sold now have too much extra fabric for me so I cut one in half and made two. No sewing required and in the cold weather will be nice to wear.

When I make some masks with the wire nose piece, I use colored craft pipe cleaners & just zig-zag them on the the top front of the mask. It makes it so much easier to see where the wire. When the wire is in a casing you have to "feel" to find how where the top is so you put it on right. Has anyone had a problem with the wire breaking after so much use? How do you handle that?

The pipe cleaner wire will start to rust. Amazon has a nice selection of plastic flat nose pieces for masks. I used those for the masks I made for family. I also used the nylon loops for weaving for the ear straps. I made enough to get tired of making them. Now we buy the packaged ones with the non elastic straps.

If you go to - Leahday.com - she has instructions for a printed mask that are quite easy. My friend has made many (including one for me) and she recommends this pattern. Leah also has a video you can watch her make one - it’s a great video if I do say so myself!! I printed out the instructions plus followed her video on my iPad - would have worked for me except for crap fabric 😬😬😬
