Congrats on everyone's weight loss, keep up the good work!

Pam H., thanks for the smoothie recipes. I need to try one of these for a breakfast. It was always toast with eggs or cereal for breakfast when I was growing up many moons ago so it's kind of hard to get into the good habit of drinking a breakfast. Hard teaching an old dog like me new tricks. : )

Thank you for the recipe. I have frozen pumpkin in my freezer from my garden so it is all organic and wholesome. It will give me another reason to use it up. This year I am seeing if I can grow the largest pumpkin. Not sure how good the meat will be in it, but the challenge sounds like such fun.

I agree on the age issue. Much harder to loose when we get older because our metabolism slows down. We can do it if we stick to a plan. At least that is what I tell myself. I seem to play the yo yo game with my weight. It seems exercise helps me the most. I know my mom lost 170 pounds, but gained half of it back because she went off her life plan and hurt her back. She is back on it again and loosing and she is 72 now and lost all the weight when she was 70. There is hope for us yet.

It is so nice to hear about your mother's weight loss journey at age 70. It gives all of us encouragement in our own weight loss struggles. I am trying to plan each days meals a day in advance, and get through one challenge at a time. I go back to work tomorrow,( the first 12 hour shift I will work since January 28th and my subsequent surgery), and I am determined that I will not let the stress get to me.

Default Oh boy! Has it really been this long?

Howdy yall! It is Missy here! I was on the forum for quite some time when I started my weight loss journey back in 2010.

I have lost more than 270 pounds now. In March I had a panniculectomy. That is the removal of excess skin. They removed about 36 pounds. Yay!

Is it okay to post pictures here? I would love to share my pics.

I am an open book so if you want o know anything about me please let m know!

Missy

I received FQ from Pete today. Missy congratulations on you great loss. We would love to see pictures and please share your success secrets with us.
I did really good on my eating this week. I indulged some this evening. Today was field day today at school. It is always a fun exhausting day. We started outside and it started to rain. Of course it was kinda cold today. We moved all of the activities inside. It gets pretty crazy. Then the sun came out so we were going to have outside recess. Well that didn't happen. They are tearing down some apartment buildings down the street and hit a big gas main. They told us to stay inside and began evacuating houses. They were just getting ready to evacuate us when they got the gas shut off.
The teachers all had Happy hour after school at one of the teachers houses. It was really a lot of fun. I did have some of the yummy appetizers and a couple of alcoholic drinks. I didn't get home until 9:30. I need to get back on track in the morning.

Thanks, Mateoh, for posting the recipe.

You really are an inspiration, Missy. I would love to see pics and hear your story.

I am SO off on my eating. I've been stress/emotional eating again this week. I really feel guilty, too, that I'm not being a better role model and not providing better meals for my family.
