Go to this link for photos of the the rising flood waters. The Mississippi is projected to crest at 48 feet on May 20, 2011.
They say the water is rising at the rate of 1 foot a day.

It's heading our way. We are watching the Black River it can directly effect us. We Live on the Ouachita River. Sure hope it does not do as predicted. When you live in the flood plain this is what happen every 20 or 30 years. The last major flood here was in 1991. Looks like we are due:(

Used to live in Memphis, Germantown Pkwy and Wolfe river; can't imagine what it must be like. Now live in Alabama where the tornadoes hit a little over a week ago. Really sad to see people lose their homes and belongings, whether by floods or tornadoes! Then the bad drought in Texas. Some weird weather going on!!! Chris

I have family in Memphis and it is really bad..ST Judes children's hosp is already taking in water on the lower levels...

IN northern MS it is the same thing..and KY, IL, AR and MO....if only we could pump that water over to TX, OK and NM...we are so dry....
