Good luck on the hunt Miranda! My oldest son used to have those too, and he was always lucky to find them before our cats did! lol!!! Strange how they always manage to get out!

Well, I'm glad to see this has happened to others, and that they can live so long. I thought he might dry out and die without water.
I should have a crab hunt instead of an egg hunt!

Will he/she come out of hiding if you put out a pan of water??? Don't know much about hermit crabs, but don't want him drying out :(

oh. How long was yours out? :( Krusty is my "baby". We got him in our first set of hermies. We buy 2 each time we go to the beach these days. We've had two pair, and one from each pair has died. We have had a max of 2 at one time. AND we got Krusty first. AND he is from OBX, and I'm all about OBX! The door was left open that goes down to the basement one night when the kids weren't here. It could've been the night! Needle in a haystack.

IDK. It's worth a try. I wonder if a light would also help.

I didn't understand they could travel that far. To the basement? Oh, I'm sorry and hope you find him soon. And can I ask, what is OBX? Water and a light to lead him home. Hoping you find the little guy soon.
