Stand up straight, you look like a lizard going to war. I told my Mother I spent many years looking down at lizard's hoping to see what one looks like.

This was my fathers saying. He used it every time we said "if" when we explained our behavior. I did not use it with my kids.

I always hated the crying thing. My parents favored it, too, and it was often followed by a smack to the face.

Even as a kid, I knew that was dumb. Of course, I never told my parents because then I would really have had something to cry about!
