This handsome fellow came to visit us this morning. He's been around before, but not for long periods of time. This morning he landed on the patio table, moved to the chair, and then onto the back wall where he stayed for a good hour or so. We named him "Gilmore" after Happy Gilmore as his territory is on a golf course and he seems pretty happy!

He is a beautiful Hawk. We have a few of them around here and I am amazed each time I see one. Thank you for sharing.

Elmira - what a small world it is! My DH grew up in Painted Post (Corning) and still has family there.
We lived in the Utica/Rome area for many, many years and would see Red-Tailed Hawks quite often, especially along the NYS Thruway on the way to Syracuse and Albany.
I think that Gilmore (our resident hawk here in AZ) is a Cooper's Hawk. He's a beauty! :)
