So my DH is pretty set on heading back out West next year and San Jose is our destination. I have seen a lot of board members from the area and was hoping I could get some information. Any information from grocery (and fabric) costs to where to live would be awesome. Thanks quilters!

DO you know the way to San Jose? Love that song. Hope others jump in soon. It is only around 6 am there you know? Give them time to wake up. LOL. YOu can google and do a search on teh town and areas too. Hope some who live in the area join this topic. SOunds like a good place to pop back in and see. Good luck with the move.

My Brother lives there, my Sister commutes to there.

Taxes are high, gas is high, etc......but so is everywhere else these days.

I haven't been there in years.

Will you or your husband be working? If so what area? It can take awhile in traffic to get around. Cambrian area is nice. Close to freeways and shopping. Great quilt shop there and if you have kids the schools are good there. Fabric prices seem to be the same here from what I read on the QB. I don't know if our walmarts have fabric yet I haven't been in awhile. I mostly go to joanns or shop online. We do seem to pay more for meat then in Texas and Idaho (family there to compare with) and our gas prices are at about 3.97 for medium grade. You can call pacific gas and electric to find out the rates for your gas and electric. We recently moved to Santa Clara and utilities are cheaper since they have their own utility company for electric. Depending on what you want to spend for a home there are alot of nice areas here. Some areas are mix and match so be careful. If you find an area you have interest in send me a pm and I will tell you what I can about it.
