Have you checked out Flylady's list of things to keep in readiness to grab and run out the door with?
I was just talking to my daughter earlier today, she's in Texas in what she calls Tornado Alley, and she sure is prepared. Has to be with all the wind there.

after Joplin was devastated I cleaned and stocked my cold storage cellar.. Its in ground with 6-8 inches of concrete on four walls and a super thick door with steel beams in the ceiling.... Its a perfect to store my canned jams too!! Plenty of water and food for at least a week..

Right now I'm glad to live in cold, wet New York. It sounds as though you have a safe place to go in case one does drop down to see you. Here we have a cellars to use if the water has not already beat us to them! Stay safe!

I saw a sign that said "Don't cry any more Mother Nature. We are alright!"
