Reminds me of the visit to Yellowstone when we had to eat lunch in the car because a momma bear was on our picnic table!

I'm a country girl but never want to see one of those in my backyard. Thanks for sharing your bear.

If you dont act threatening they wont attack the only reason they might is if there is a mother with a babyand you get between them but these bears are very pieceful and usually run before attacking I just love to watch them..My husband and I were sitting near our fireplace which is about 10 feet away from the feeders in the picture and being a nice night we were almost snoozing then I looked over and I saw a shadow it was a bear he had snuck down to the feeder right near us but when I spoke to tell my husband I spooked the bear and he left that was a bit scary cause for such a big creature we didnt even hear him

Oh my gosh! That would scare the living heck out of me! I though bears were more nocturnal? Yes, no?

Is this the first time?

I grew up in Alaska and we had bears around all the time. I think they are beautiful animals. I just love them. We had one come in the house once. The front door wasn't all the way shut and when he come onto the porch to check out the freezer the leaned on the door and it opened. He came in the front and my mom pushed us out the back. It was hilarious. He just looked around a little and left the same way he came in. My mom even found it funny after she checked to make sure the big guy hadn't torn up anything while in the living room. But she did make sure that the door was securely closed after that. I miss seeing them.

Pictures thru a window a great when the subject is bigger than you. He is an impressive figure. I think he deserves to stay outside!

When I lived in CO, we used to have to walk with a shower curtain rod dragging the ground to let the bears know we were around. Worked for the mountain lions, too! I miss the scenery of CO, but not so much the inhabitants. Fun to look at, but scary to live around.

In CO, you would be fined heavily for leaving those bird feeders out, which brings in the bears. Once those bears are out of hibernation in the spring, we could not have bird feeders out, or trash cans that were not "bear-proof", which cost a fortune.

I used to have feeders out (while they lasted) that the deer used to eat out of. After a bear destroyed one of my brand new feeders, I gave up. Never heard about any fines in the 9 years I lived there.
