And I thought two (as well as a cat) were a handful!

Love your furballs and I do understand about needing attention before letting go of the new arrival. My 2 dogs do the same thing.

They are my kind of babies, so cute, never find fault and give unconditional love.

I can relate. We have 4 dogs and a cat. People think we are crazy when we go camping with all of them. One of the reasons we got a bigger trailer was to accommodate the dogs.

Oh my! I used to have two German Shepherds and one cat. That was enough hairballs for me.

My husband told me the same thing for years. I love dogs and really wanted one or even two. We bought a house with a big yard and he kept saying no. Finally I sat him down and explained that for 17 years, he had his way and we had no pets. Now it was my turn, for the next 17 years. I got a female puppy and later, a male puppy. They are both wonderful, and she is now 15 and he is 4. There was another dog in between, who died of cancer, a massive male Akita (talk about hair all over!).

Now hubby is a dog person, too. He walks them everyday, plays with them, talks to them. It's nice to watch. He said if he had known earlier how cute they are, he wouldn't have said no.

Your dogs are so handsome, Retired Fire Chief! Your Oliver looks a lot like my Buddy.
