I'd love to see a photo of your tortie, is she the blend all over and missing the individual colored patches? Miss Maple is blended on her back and sides and tail but has white feet and tummy and part of her face. Plus she has the black and maple colors on her face and ears and back of her neck.

When I googled images for tortoiseshell cats, they showed some that look just like Miss Maple plus some with no white at all and all ranges in between. So I was very confused about it.

I just found something interesting on about.com that says, " It's all academic anyway, because all calicoes are torties, while not all torties are calicoes."

Oh gosh she's adorable! Such beautiful colors! I've got one that is determined to burrow UNDER any sheet or blanket. Nothing is safe from him.
