My husband and I ran off and got married 47 years ago. It was a good thing for us to do. On our 32nd anniversary we were married in our church. Our daughters did our reception at our home and we had a great time. Not all things have to be the same for everyone.

Congrats ... my daughter did the same thing to me in May, I got a text message that said I had a son-in-law. New Years Eve I sent her a text told her she had a step-father :D

In three weeks, it will be 60 years since DH and I left Ohio and got married in Indiana. Korean War was in full swing and he was due to go. He went and stayed with AF for 20 yrs, including Vietnam.

Our youngest daughter did that. We got a call in early July '09 saying she was married.

My grandparents did this in 1926. They came home after they were married and went back to their respective homes. They didn't tell anyone they were married for two or three days. Their marriage lasted nearly 64 years.
