I second that, that was totall uncalled for,he should be reported
I third that. What a jerk.

I have dealt with a lot of doctors both with my son and myself. For the most part I have had excellent relationships with most of them. There were a few here and there that our personalities rubbed the wrong way, and it was mostly due to my wanting all the facts and not being willing to accept what they said just because they said so.

Doctors work for the patient, it's no different than if you took your car to a mechanic. Some just need to be reminded that they put their pants on one leg at a time the same way we do! :)

I am also a retired RN. I believe your SIL. She should report this incident to her state med. board. She should also take herself to a chiropractor. Post accident, this professional was the only one who got me walking. I was afraid at first. But...the relief, kindness and understanding was amazing. My chiro. listens and I firmly believe this alternative medicine practice has its place. I use it in conjunction with my traditional fibromyalgia regime. The only thing I can say about pain is that it reminds me I am alive. But... so do my grandchildren.

I agree with you on the chiro but she refuses! I had migraines after a car accident when I was 6.....finally went to a chiro when I was 37...NO MORE HEADACHES!!! Also -- for the fibro....check out www.truthinlabeling.com.....they have info on MSG and Aspertame. I was diagnosed with fibro almost 20 yrs ago...and discovered by eliminating them from my diet (totally - internal AND external), my fibro is under control!!!

I had a family member some years ago who was also called
a liar for more or less the same thing. So this feeble old
lady stuck her grandson's voice recorder in her pocket and
SHOWED the unblievers that she was not just blowing
hot air!!

They agreed that she should change doctors right away,
and when she played it to the receptionest, she had to fight
to keep it!!!

As a long time hospital volunteer (28+ years) we all called
the new interns GITs. (Gods In Training), which was more or less accurate. An older doctor told us to give them 20 or 30 years, then they would realize they don't know everything and would become nice human beings.

I hope your SIL talks to her GP about this guy. I hope she gets a 2nd referral.

We've been having to deal with an ortho surgeon since June. I am so appreciative that they are so nice and don't mind that I go in with DH to the xray room and I am in the exam room too. The dr speaks to both of us and allows us to ask all kinds of questions. He gives us a paper copy of 1 of the xrays every time. This dr can't yet be 40.
