Hmmm....when we got up this morning, we found these visitors in the front yard ...waiting. I'm sure they didn't come for dinner..but maybe for safety??? That white (khaki) hen has been in this group for the last 2 years. I'm really glad she is still around, she makes such an easy target that I'm always afraid that some hunter will want to have her stuffed...but on his wall, not in the oven.
This group is somewhere on our farm almost everyday. Today though, they almost came up on the front porch! It was hard to get the pics without spooking them through the window. If they see you moving around these will wander off....not terrified because they are around here daily, but still, they will move another direction.

They started towards the house from down in the valley

awww, how cute. We get them around here too, only we are in suburbia! My inlaws live in a very wooded, hilly location and there are wild turkeys all over. Drives them crazy...I think they must damage the landscaping :)

Beautiful pics Patti - and you're a bunch of meanies talking about dinner! Although I'm a hypocrite because I love my turkey Christmas dinner! I showed the pic to Hans and he made shooting noises through his teeth!
I don't think we have wild turkeys here in France. Patti, I guess they thought they'd be safe with you (cos I know you're a big softy, farmer or not!), today of all days! :D
