First of all,let me just say that you are an amazing person just because you have not given up. You could go to bed and feel sorry for yourself, but you have chosen to do something about your pain. I am sorry that you have to go through so much pain. I know there are many that can relate to you. I know I can on a smaller scale. Quality of life is important. After you get that shoulder looked at you may want to consider something my chiropractor suggested to me. I started going to an aqua arthritis class at the local fitness center. Wow, Did that help my back problems. Once I got over the "going to the pool" obstacle (I once almost drowned and have a fear of water) I discovered relief from pain and a huge improvement in quality of life. Just a suggestion. Hope and pray you will find relief.

Get a second opinion. Ditch that doctor.

I agree with everyone else-get a second opinion and change doctors from that jerk. Although your problems may be heredity, I'm sure that the right medications and exercises can make your life a lot more bearable. Hugs to you.

You are not alone..I've had spinal surgery, knee replacement, mastectomy, carpal tunnel surgery on left wrist and a shoulder replacement following a fall on ice. I told my husband on our 50th anniversary he had half a new woman with the knee, breast and shoulder surgeries all on my right side. the left knee needs an over haul but I'm putting it off since my husband is dealing with a serious health issue.

A second opinion from an orthopedic surgeon may be helpful ..But I have found keep moving is helpful. My internist and orthopedic surgeon both suggested water exercise. Doing a workout in water takes the weight stress off the joints and really helps with strength and relief. I was afraid of water (near drowning incident in childhood) and my kids were really surprised I enjoy the sessions (classes) 2 x a week at our local health center pool. Remembering you in prayers.

That Dr. is such a jerk for telling you that. That would be the last time I'd go to him. I had trouble years ago with heart burn and told the Dr. about it and he did not take any tests or anything but told me to take Prilosec. I did for a very very short time and then started eating an apple every night and that took care of the problem, but never went back to him again.

Find a good pain specialist. I have arthritis in all of my joints too. I had six surgeries in four years. Now I have lots of creams, patches, and pills to treat my pain. It takes some learning. I kept a journal and learned to treat my pain. Not everything works for every body part. Some work better than others and at different times of the day. My quality of life has improved significantly. Good luck to you.

A chiropractor is not an MD. Go see both the rheumatologist and the orthopedist and see if you can get a referral to a physical therapist and an occupational therapist. An occupational therapist is someone that can help you create alternative movements that will lessen the pain.
