Most big box and variety stores have them.

If you sstill want to use handmade, you could make some little sewn ornaments, like stockings or quilted ornaments made from scraps - I saw some cute selvedge ornaments in the last McCall's quilting.

Whoo hoo! Thanks everyone.

I did find lots at Wal-Mart today! I will not use the metal hangers either, I will use the ornament hanger string I have instead. Wanna be as safe as possible.

Oh My Gosh! Two weeks ago I got two red tabbys from local shelter. They are brother and sister Stuff and Tuff...She is Tuff.

They are 11 weeks old now and a rolling tussling ball all the time. I 'FORGOT' about the Christmas tree attacks.

Thanks for the notice.

We used the styrofoam balls and had to tie our tree up to the drapery rods. Finally after years of redecorating the tree every morning before leaving for work, we got rid of the tree! Kids are all grown and live away. We use other decorations instead of a tree.

My 4 yo grand daughter lives with us so I wanted to put a tree up for her, otherwise I wouldn't.

Don't know where you could find the ornaments. Your post reminded me --- A friend had two new kittens at Christmas time and her Christmas tree was completely naked of all decorations. She has pictures of two solid white kittens climbing in the tree.

Using unbreakable ornaments is just the 1st step...unfortunately you also need to figure out how to "tie" the tree so it can't fall over.....ask me how I know???? I'm owned by 4 house cats..
