My husband had sinus infections as long as I knew him (+ 40years). It eventually lead into spells of vertigo. He was recommeneded to have sinus surgery. They found sinus cavities that had been closed off by scar tissue. Since the surgery, he has been fine(8+ years). Find a good ENT & good luck!

If your house is only five years old you had better check the drywall used on your home it could have something to do with that.I know one sign of bad drywall was the smell of sulphur. I hope this is not the problem but I felt I needed to make you aware of it.

Sorry you are having so much trouble. I have never had a sinus infection. I think it could be because I had my adnois (sp?) out along with my tonsils when I was 10.

I had the chronic sinus infections as well, and finally found what I was allergic to, and started having allergy shots every week. Pain in the butt, but I haven't had a sinus infection since. The real problem is that if you're an adult when you start allergy shots, you have to take them once a week for the rest of your life....

I used to have chronic sinus problems until a pharmacist told me about 'nasal saline'. I tried the aerosol form, hated it, I use the squeeze bottle. About $2-3. I haven't had a sinus infection since! Since it the same saline they put in IV's, there is no symptom rebound, drug interaction problems, nor bad side effects. I hope it works as well for you as it did me. Dr. Oz recommends a 'Neti pot' for the problem.

I have had them since high school. After much trials, I now use a netipot and clean out sinuses with saline solution. No more stuffiness either! Husband had deviated septum and surgery helped him with the infections. Big difference for him!

Probiotics won't hurt you even if you don't need them, so why not give them a try? All of the antibiotics we take really mess up the balance in our system. I would recommend a refrigerated type from your health food store because they have more in them. Just follow the instructions on the label, and see if you feel any better in a couple of weeks. I think Irish Rose has some good advice. If it were me I would also look at my diet. Several of my friends are now on a gluten free diet and it has really done wonders for their health. It's not an easy way to go but if you are in total misery you might want to check it out. Hope you kick this soon.

I had horrible constant sinus infections. I retired over a year ago and have not had a sinus infection since. There was definitely something in the work environment. I did get a mold test kit and used it according to the directions in my classroom and the results came back saying "too numerous to count".
