Maybe you can take it and maybe you can't. Lots and lots of people can't take small donations anymore because the standard deduction is so high their itemized deductions just don't add up.

Even if you can't deduct it, donations are always a good thing.

I am not sure what it takes to get set up on esty. But some of the girls here sell on there.

I am so sorry that you lost money on the show. It was not worth all of the hard work setting up a booth for that disappointment.

I've tried ETSY and EBAY. no luck there either. I was trying to find something I enjoyed doing from my home so I could stay home with baby #2. I guess the good Lord wants me to stay put at my job for some reason...

These days, if you have any steady income, hold on to it. Jobs are so hard to come by, yours will be filled as soon as you leave it, and no going back.

There are two churches a mile from me that have large craft sales.....I go that way everday and its near the school. There are usually cars galore in their parking lots...this year there seemed to be a lot of open spots

It that way all over, I have notice that people have stopped spending money like they used too. I paint high end show cars and bikes and my work has slowed quite a bit but only enough to keep from having a huge back log of people waiting to get their cars done.

I quit a 6 digit a year job just so I could be at home and be with my kids and see them grow up and spend time with my family. I now work to live instead of live to work. But all of my work is from word of mouth and I never advertise and do it all from my garage in my backyard.

Yes it is nice to be able to do what I want when I want but if I did not have everything paid off including my home I would still be a slave to the grind.

Look into local high schools. Several around here (including my husband's TSA group) have shows during November. The booths tend to be a little cheaper (his run 25 to 50) and the crowds are pretty good. Add a few pieces in the school colors and you are good to go! Good Luck!

I have been to two of our local bazaars here, most said that sales were slow. They had people come, look and visit, but people were not buying. It is so sad when you think about some who depend on making money this time of year... I hope the economy starts swinging the other direction with the New Year!!!
