Our DIL says every small appliance she’s ever bought on BF turns out to be junk. Rumor is it’s not generally quality products. Couldn’t prove it by me, I stay home.

I haven't been Black Friday shopping in many years. That stopped when I felt I was being crushed after hours of standing in line only to have the door rushed by newcomers. I did shop online a bit but spent under $100. I am not a big holiday shopper. I like closeout after Christmas sales much better and then have a great deal of my shopping done for the next holiday. Doing this saves me the most money all the way around. What did I buy? A boogie board, a doll and 2 gift cards. Every thing else is taken care of for grandchildren. I only have two things to get and those are for my daughters.

I've never gone out on Black Friday ever as I've heard tell its one of the most dangerous days of the year. People get crazy and do stupid things they wouldn't normally do. Plus I doubt if the sales are as good as they claim. Maybe some sales are but I'm sure the majority of them are not. Plus, I don't need anything and I buy things for others whenever I feel like it and not because I'm expected to.

Does picking up a prescription count? Did not have to wait in line long to do that. The crowd at Fred Meyer was a little crazy. I did buy 4 kits from Bluprint Friday evening. They were all on clearance and were a Christmas gift for me. This does not count as buying fabric in our household. we buy gift cards for nieces and nephews and their children. It is so much easier because three of four families are out of state. It may seem more impersonal but everyone gets what they want from Amazon etc.

Never for me. I have all my shopping done by Thanksgiving. I hate crowds and will not go into a crowded area if I can get out of it.

No black Friday shopping for me. I had not planned any. The plan was to sew most of Friday and Saturday. Ended up spending most of the holiday and weekend at the hospital with Mom as she had a stroke on Wednesday. She is now doing fairly well and we are waiting to find out next steps.

No BlacK Friday shopping for years. I remember the last time. Checker had tears rolling down her cheeks, heard another worker whisper "I checked on your kids, they're ok. don't worry". I asked if all was ok and she said no one who didn't have kids would trade a shift with her, her hubby was overseas. most of her neighbors either working, gone or shopping. The kids were in her car in the back of the store and everyone was trying to keep an eye on them. She was told show up for your shift or don't show up at all. THAT was the last time I shopped on Black Friday, or any other Holiday again.

I am not a fan of the crowds..it's easier to stay home and shop on line. The sales this year just didn't tempt me. I tend to buy throughout the year as I see a good gift for someone, though. I did buy a good amount of longarm quilting designs at 50% off..( instant downloads)...I wait for that all year! I have my wishlist ready to go, and it's a very fast shopping trip!

I had no choice but to go shopping on BF. My DH had to replace 5 broken mailboxes at one of our apartment buildings, so we were in Lowe's. No huge crowds, but then again there are no huge crowds in Aroostook County, Maine! All in all, we spent under $500 for the mailboxes, lumber, hardware, etc. Other than this Lowe's trip, only other shopping done on the weekend was a quick (under $10) grocery store trip.

We did the Walmart BF craziness one year when they had 32 inch flat screen TVs for $96 each. Couldn't believe the lines and the "nasty" people pushing and shoving. Of course, not enough TVs in stock, so they gave out vouchers for when the sets came in. We didn't get the TVs until well into February. Oh well....live and learn.

The best BF spent was actually in Moncton, New Brunswick (Canada). I mean huge fabric sale at Fabricville. 50% off everything in the store! Needless to say, I bought fabric; mostly Stonehenge Canadian design fabric. Love that their "yard" cuts are actually 39 inches! I tried to get DH to go up there again this year...no dice. Too much work on our rental units and not enough time. Maybe next year? I can only hope.

I don't like crowds, so I have never gone shopping on Black Friday.
