Good morning everyone! Was a beautiful day yesterday. I got my quilt top done now to get it sandwiched, quilted and the binding on. I have so many projects going on at one time I'm having a hard time keeping up. Tis the season.

MJ - Glad to hear you're doing more walking, just take it easy.

Nancy - I love those snack mats, they are so cute and the turkey is going to be a winner.

Cindy - It's good to hear you are getting better every day. I agree with others, there's no way you can look at your avatar and not see how much your little dog loves you. That's why I love chihuahua's. We have a chihuahua and she is a cuddle buns just like yours.

Well I hope everyone has a very good day. We are supposed to get thunder storms here. We have two birthday parties to go to we are just going to pop in and pop out so we can get back home to get at our quilting.

I am hoping this post will start the notifications again. We are on vacation in Canada. It is so beautiful here! The maples are just changing, there are so many beautiful lakes and it is so cool the way the roads are carved into the rock. We took 2 1/2 days to drive the 1,100 miles to Montreal. My daughter knows a little French but I think she is finding out that isn't enough. Last night we ate at Chat Noir (black cat). We all had fondue and it was so incredibly delicious. If I just had not eaten the French bread it would have been a perfect meal.
The cheese thing this week is impossible for me. I live in Wisconsin! We have the most delicious cheese. That's like asking me to hold my breath for a week!
I backtracked several pages and found Missy's cookie recipe. I wrote it on a paper towel!
Sandy, I am so sorry for the loss of your sister. I will be praying for you and your mom.
Penny, You will feel so much better after your surgery, well, after you recover. My only regret from mine was that I also had some bladder repair done. It put so many restrictions on my life.
Jeanne, Ethan is doing pretty much the same. They tried a new medication last week and then upped the dose. It makes him sleepy all the time. They will be having meetings with a team of doctors to figure out the next step. Some of the things they are considering are a high protein diet or surgery. Thanks so much for asking. He has a lot of people praying for him but I am so glad that you are too.

I made it to the mailbox and back today! I am increasing my steps, but still huffing and puffing. No results back from the tests. I will go by the hosp next week and requests copies of the results. Then I have them in my hot little hands!

I feel like this month will never end. I don't know if it's because I ran out of money so quickly, or just the change of the weather. It feels forever long to me.

I am enjoying the beautiful sunshine and cooler temps, though. I will get out for a little while today and walk while I am out.

What activity will you increase today?
Yay for you MJ! I am so proud of you that you can walk to your mailbox. I am feeling the same as you about this month. I also ran out of money quickly this money. It is colder too. Yuck.

Oh well. I am going to work hard this month to eliminate more of the refined white stuff (rice, pasta, etc...) I do not eat much of it but I want to try and get rid of what I can.

Weight is stable right now at 354.4. That is a good thing. I also am going to step up the walking in the pool. That is the best thing I can do right now.

Anyway...thinking of you MJ!

I was okay on the eating today, but they had a tour of a new Whole Foods opening in our town, we went on the tour and received goodie bags. Lots of cool things, I did eat two pieces of chocolate - but I had just a salad for dinner oops, with some onion rings. I will see what the scale says tomorrow.
Wow. I so love Whole Foods. We do not have one here though. :(

What is a snack mat? Sounds like it would be darling to give to the kidlets. The Casper's Crunch sounds soo Yummy!

Missy
Those are DARLING! What are the dimensions of the mats? I LOVE the idea of having them for going on picnics or to the park. Cute cute cute!

They are 8 by 11 - quick and easy. I am making turkey placemats for same little guys for Thanksgiving. So many things to do - but it keeps me going in retirement.

I have to be really good this week, I kinda went off the wagon and had too many carbs this weekend. I wonder what tomorrow's weigh in will say about that?

October seems to be an extremely long month. I am glad for that.........LOL I am in no rush to go back to work. I see the surgeon again on the 9th of Novemeber and will know then what he says. I don't feel ready to go back to work at all. Not at the long days I work, 12 hour shifts. will see what they say.

Moved back to my apartment today, still close enough to the parents to be checked on and to be taken care of if needed. But now I can get back to work on a few of my quilt projects that I need to work on. It is nice to be able to be in my place and work on projects when I want to and go at my own place.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I am losing....keep up all your hard work.

Cindy

Thank you, everyone, for your words of comfort, prayers and support. I ended up not weighing this morning as I had planned. I just could not get up and ended up sleeping late. When I got up, I immediately starting cooking brunch for Mom and me. We went to the grocery store this afternoon and I stocked up on fruits and veggies. I ate healthy today and am back on track. Will definitely weigh in the morning. I hope you all have a good night. Sandy
