WOW! Was gone for a couple days and I sure missed a lot.

Irish, I wish I had some of your cauliflower. I love it cooked and then mashed like mashed potatoes. Also if we were in MI now, I would love to take one or both of your dogs for as long as you needed. We did "dog day care" for 12 years and now I miss it. Told DH that when we move, we'll have animals again.

Took a lot of Mom's and our things to a garage sale that a friend was involved with. Mom made $15 and we made $26. Not a lot, but got rid of lots of little things. Starting to de-trash and de-clutter. I can hardly wait to move.

Thanks for the info on the honey and cinnamon. When I have ear problems, which affects my throat, I drink hot water with honey and apple cider vinegar. Now I'm going to add the cinnamon also.

I did really good with eating and being gone . I'm off pop/sodas again. Didn't even have one this weekend. Took a large bottle of water and just kept filling it. Even had salads when possible instead of other things. Hoping the scale is good to me tomorrow, of course with all the outside work that DH and I did today, it should be.

Today we worked on getting the lawn and yard looking good for winter. I really had fun "puttering" around. I pulled the tomato plants, raked leaves, dug and threw weeds and even mowed some of the lawn. Had more energy than was normal and it sure felt good. Now it's time for a hot bath and some relaxing time.

Cindy, hope you hear about the job soon. Know the waiting is the hardest.

For all of you who will be new grandma's, I am envious. DD is not into children at this stage of her life. But then I was 38 when I had her, so I guess she's taking after her parents. I do love to do baby quilts, so if anyone needs one, please let me know.

Take care - remember - be good to you!!!

Good Morning! I'm going to ask what everyone might think as a dumb question but "what's the difference between ground cinnamon and cinnamon powder"? Do I need to go to the health food store for the right cinnamon? I used the ground cinnamon last night with honey and hot water - it tasted bad. Am I doing something wrong?

Wow - working all weekend I really had a lot to catch up on. You ladies have all been busy with tons going on. I've been sitting in a "box" for the last 2 days. My 12 hr. shifts. Yesterday turned cold here and I had to really warm up when I got home. Good thing was I was seriously tired and all the police officers kept me in stitches all day long. Went to bed super early last night and have been up and getting things done before I head out. Going to JoAnn's for their Columbus Day sale and to pick up a few things for my Mom.

Well, I'm off ladies. Everyone have a wonderful day. Think warm happy thoughts, drink lots of water and eat tons of veggies!!!!!

Di, I would think ground cinnamon and cinnamon powder would be the same thing. Different cinnamons taste different. Vietnamese is good flavored, but stronger. I've had to throw away some inexpensive cinnamon because it tasted 'green' to me. You can get your cinnamon from the grocery. I get mine at the health food store because I know I like the taste of theirs and it's less expensive. I've had a lot of good flavored ones in those 99 cent bottles. I only threw out one. I'm using a teaspoon of cinnamon and about 2 teaspoons of honey. I've had it on an apple, a banana, in cooled tea and coffee. None tasted bad.

CHQ, with a 9 pound cabbage sitting here, I will eat my veggies. My house looks like the produce market. I do need more lemons and bananas. We've had two nights below freezing. Brrr.

The newspaper had a recipe for soup with quinoa and vegetables. I think I will try, but I prefer Mexican spices to Italian.

Have a healthy day!

I made it back from JoAnn's alive!!!!! Bought DH Ravens fleece to make him a comfy blanket for Christmas. I made him a small red & black plaid one last year and he loves it, but it needed to be longer. They have a new plaid Ravens fabric this year and he'll love it. Dropped that at my BFFs so he wouldn't see it. She'll sneak it over on one of our quilting nights....hehehe.

Also picked up a few things for my Secret Santa's box. I'm having trouble on that end. She wasn't very informative on her list of wants or needs. Weekend of the 19th I'm going on a retreat, hope to pick up some things she'll like then. Plus I'm doing the Ornament exchange. Need to get busy on those as well. Also have to finish up a bag for a friend of mine. I'm heading to my quilting room to get busy!! What a day off. Good thing I have another one tomorrow before going back to work again!!

I"m at my retreat and having fun!
I think cinnamon powder is the same thing as what we all use. You might need to start out with less cinnamon. I have Penzey's and it is so strong. I made a drink and the cinnamon about made me sick. I had strange feelings in my chest. From now on I will go easy on the cinnamon until I get used to it.

I love Penzeys cinnamon, they have several varieties. I agree about the cinnamon, it is good, have done it for awhile and it has helped with my blood sugars.

Well I didn't have to wait too long, got a phone call from both today, the one that is part time wants more paper work done before they will make an offer.. The one that is full time gave me a verbal offer with salary, they just needed me to sign for the background check and send email address for my references. That all was done in 30 mins. ZThey said it could be back by the end of the week. And if it does I could start on Monday. AMEN!!! I am so happy to get the job.

wow a 9 lb cabbage that is a lot of cabbage. I need to get more veggies. I am out, will be going shopping in the next day or two and will have to plan food for packing lunches now that I may be working soon.

I am so excited.

Yes it is great to get good news. One of my references just let me know that he has already responded to their email. I am so excited, having a hard time sitting still. I have been working on finding my casual business clothes since i wont have to wear scrubs to work. And will probably have to get some that are smaller as the weight loss has been happening. That is a good thing.

Will keep everyone posted.........no more 12 hour shifts for me. LOL
