Cindy my fat/skinny quarter is postal, and I am excited and waiting to see my newly won fabric. I am having fun making plans for it. Will post pics when it arrives.

My prayers are with you and your precious mom Cindy. It is a new challenge for many of us in helping our parents, in my case with the things that happen as they age.

We have been gone today, and car all fixed. I went last night with my precious dad to a revival that is held once per year in Jamestown Tn. It is called 'Mission Point Jubilee'. They are always sponsored by the local physicians, etc. They have great gospel singers, and me and dad heard the trio ' Greater Vision'. I got to hold dad's arm going in and coming out, because it is hard for him to walk and not fall.
I would not let dad drive alone, but he insists on driving. He is 81. It was dark going up the hill to the place, and before I knew it dad drove us off the road into a hill. God was looking over us, because we are ok, and so is dad's car. (shook me up) After it was over dad wanted to get an ice cream cone at McDonald s (they are low calorie and low fat). Well, he turned off too quick and we started to go over a bank with those concrete things. I was fast enough this time to point it out to him. I am quite laid back in a car, but I am not going anywhere with dad again at night, and neither is he.

I received a package from my Cardiologist, and he had his nurse send me the full Dash Low Sodium Diet Plan. If I find any good tips to help us all out, I will post them if it's ok.

CindyA I am glad you are on the mend. It is always easy for us to slip, but that is why we are here. My prayers are with you and your mom. I can certainly understand the stress. Our weather is cooler too, and today a misty type rain. All the trees pretty different fall colors.

JuneBillie, looking forward to your diet tips. I think we've heard so many of them - kinda like a buffet - which one to choose?!? Good luck with the new low sodium process and that in itself is a good tip - LIMIT THAT SALT...

I stepped on the scales this morning and doing better than I thought. Cindy, fabric is ready for the mail. Tomorrow I'm going on a 3 shop hop. I signed up way last spring. We start at our home shop and spend the day escorted to the other shops where they will do lunch, then snack and back to home for supper. Lots of prizes and goodies so I'm told. I don't know any one else who is going but this was my treat to me and I'm just going to have a great day! I'll tell you all about it next week.

I started making a baby quilt a couple of evenings ago. It is a lot of curved piecing. I decided to put together one block tonight. I like the block but I'm not sure I like it for a baby quilt. It is also a pain to make and I need 12 of them. I need to rethink my design.
We had a teacher luncheon today. Everyone brings things. LOts of yummy foods. I did OK with what I ate. I made a tiramisu. OMG was it good and it is gone so I didn't eat too much of it. I had a salad for dinner.

I've been slow about getting my FQ's together. I am finally over the stomach flu and will get my fabric in the post Friday or Saturday. Hope everyone is doing well.

TGIF! Yep, that wonderful day that says we get a couple of days to finish up our projects or continue on with them. I am currently working on two fall runners for customers, two charity quilts, and my nephews graduation quilt that should have been done. I also get the pleasure of speaking at the WSQ Quilt Show here in Spokane on Sunday. The worst part of it all is I am not watching my diet as I should. Hope these photos cheer you up and encourage you for the weekend. The weekends are always the hardest for me because DH is home and he cook so awesome and then at the show, well always goodies there. So here is to those pumpkin cookies that found my hips.

It is cool here today, and so pretty outside. So many beautiful fall colors, and the sun is out. Well, I will add a few diet tips as an aside to others.

We always think of what we have to give up, but we might think of what all to add such as getting in our servings of fruits and veggies.

When at a party or any kind of celebration, and there are all those tempting goodies, and we don't want to be the odd one there, just take a bite of each thing to taste, and you won't gain, but will not feel deprived wondering what you missed out on.

I read that our stomach is only the size of our fist. Yikes! So, we don't need that much to eat well and not feel bloated.

I have a sweet tooth, and think I have to have a sweet when I have a cup of coffee. I have learned to suck on a hard piece of candy that I like, but just one. Even a pack of smarties is few calories and satisfies the sweet tooth with coffee.

Well, that is it for today. I added more than I thought.

Have a good weekend everyone.

I decided I hated the baby quilt I started. The block I made was a total pain to make and I need 12 of them. No fun to make. I redid my design. Now I am making a kaleidescope. It is actually going together really fast. I hope I have enough of one of the fabrics. Not sure if I can get more. It is a batik so it will be hard to find. I am going to call the LQS where I got it tomorrow to see if they have more. I am heading to a small quilt show in the morning. I put a sample in my purse so I can look for it there. My DH is thinking of going with me Not sure if this is a good idea. He hates to shop. He probably won't let me spend much money.

I am going to an antique quilt show tomorrow. I don't think I have a lot of interest but I may be pleasantly surprised. A friend who was the rescuer of one of my dogs is in charge. The museum needs support so my $4 entry will do. I did buy a raffle for a civil war quilt the local guild made for a door prize. If I win it, I'll donate it - not my genre. I think they are selling some antique sewing machines, too. I will NOT buy one.

I should have dropped many pounds today. Did a lot of painting outdoors. Way too much work. Ouch. Then I still had to walk the dogs as they didn't get any exercise while I painted. The little black Border Collie has some white paint on her tail.

I need to grocery shop tomorrow. I am out of too many things. Maybe I'll get enough done around here to be able to sew a bit.

I need some input on the quilt for my sister. The colors show pretty well here. There are many different colors. I'm just not sure about the 2 rows that are more violet than purple. Should I redo those blocks or do they look ok?
