We have our little 3 1/2 foot tree on the dining room table since last year. I'm not able to do what it takes to fix a regular tree, so this one has to do for us. Before my husband died, we had two huge trees and lots of decorations around everywhere before Halloween. The living room furniture was turned upside down and plywood on that and a big Christmas scene was all over. My daughter, Debbie, and I live a much slower and contended life now. Last year I had severe health problems and just cut shapes out of paper and made cones from tin foil. It will be just fine for us this year too. I do miss the Christmases we used to have but age and health have taken over. Debbie is 48, retarded and epileptic so "home" is where we are most of the time. I hope some of you will post pictures of your trees, we never get our fill of Christmas. Debbie is watching Christmas videos now. Blessings to all. Kathryn

I have one of those skinny, rustic trees you leave up all year. I change out decorations on it. Right now it's loaded with leaves for Thanksgiving but we did put wreath's on every window this morning. It's a relatively nice day so we got it done before the snow flies.

We already have our outside decorations up, because the weather was so nice last week, but they don't get lit until Thanksgiving night. Our tree goes up the first week of December and stays up until Epiphany, January 6. Our Nativity will go up the weekend after Thanksgiving. That is always the first thing out and then comes my Christmas village and my Christmas plates. Little by little the other stuff goes up until we put up the tree.

Hopefully, ours will go up the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Having an artificial tree allows us to put it up earlier than we used to - still prefer a real tree, though.

The day after Thanksgiving for us, and the lights will follow if not I might start putting them up this week if I can get a break in weather and work.

Now the Christmas wallpaper and Firefox toolbar has been up for the last two weeks on all of our computers. And I was just reminded that we are going to have everyone over Thankgiving night to watch "A Christmas Story" and Christmas Pictionary. So my house will be a mad house to say the least.
