After my cataract surgery 11 years ago, my doctor said to be gentle when rubbing my eyes. I've always practiced that and have never had a problem.

After my eye ops the dr told me do not rub your eyes at all. Which is hard to do sometimes. Told me to use eye drops if they feel itchy. I wore glasses for years and after the cataract surgery on both of my eyes, I havent had to wear glasses at all. It is so nice. I am sure this will require you to have a slight operation again, I just hope it is not extremely serious. - J.
