Oh this sounds so familiar ... USA or Canada ... price goes up, though usually it's not the producer that is getting the extra $$$$, rather all those who are involved in the chain from moo to you. Similarly other commodities!

Great figures OKSewGlad ... the primary producers continue to do a better job of producing food for all.

1910 ... one farmer produced enough food to feed 12 people
Today ... one farmer produces enough for 130 people!

(note, one farmer, not one farm ... so the numbers would go up incrementally dependant on the work force involved)

My DH LOVES pb, and the kids like it too. I could live without ever seeing it again. I don't hate it, just not on my preferred list at all. Every time it's on coupon at Costco, he gets excited and asks at least once a week if we don't need some? Do we need pb? Are we out of pb? I don't see any in the pantry (truly not a clue WHERE to look in there)-don't we need some? As much as I say NO! we have plenty, he will always come home with at least one two pack, usually two-because he thought we needed it! I guess my no must really mean "We are absolutely out. We don't have a teaspoon left. Please, stock up. The eight jars in the pantry aren't enough."

Oh I bet that is good nothing beats good meat candy!!!

If you all have a Kroger foods (peter pan carries it in their brand also) try the "Honey Roasted Peanut Butter" it is the bomb!!! I am going to fill a prescription at Krogers today and I will see if it is still on sale and get a case. But even then that will not last me long, every night I make a PBJ and my puppers get a bite of PB too. Its our treat to ourselves for being good for the day.

almost every day, I have a peanut butter and banana sandwich on whole-wheat "all natural" raisin bread. I buy the peanut butter at a local health food store so it's pure. This week, I made a change and bought cashew butter. Even yummier than pb, IMHO!

when I went to Spain, I brought my DD a pack from BJ's of peanut butter. Unlike me, she prefers the kind where the peanut oil was removed and replaced with vegetable oil and it has added sugar. Guess I should ask her if she needs more??
