I never understand how people in England and Europe can afford gas at the prices they have over there. Are wages higher, too? Do you all just not drive as much as Americans? Is public transportation more available?

I bought myself an ole fashion Bubble Gum Pink Schwinn bike w/ large basket last summer and I rode it all over to go where I could, over to visit my sister and to the little store. 2 fold I saved on gas and got plenty of excerise. One neighbor girl told me I looked like Angela Lansbury from Murder She Wrote !!! LOL

I went into Wal-Mart last night to buy milk and bottled water and put money on a gift card to save 3 cents a gallon on gas. When I came out of Wal-Mart, the price of gas had gone up 14 cents. UGG! Wish I had put gas in the car before I went into Wal-Mart.

Isn't it interesting how the Gas Companies profits are the best they have ever been and we still pay the high prices!
I don't believe their reasons for higher prices!
Just sayin!

Had a friend who had swiped her card and was about to put gas in when the tank turned off. She went inside to see what the deal was and they were changing prices - up 20¢ between the time she swiped her card and the time she started to gas up.

I'm also thinking about a bike. The grandson who lives near me will be 4 in June and I'm thinking he needs a bike. And if he needs one, so do I! Problem is to get to any store we'd have to cross some busy roads and ... few bike trails around here, but ... gonna think about it anyway.
