I garden and read, mostly mysteries and science fiction. I used to bake a lot, but unfortunately I was too good and ate it all... At one time I crocheted some, used to sew most of my clothes and some for other people. I bought a book about making cement garden containers, and I hope to try that out soon.

I have enjoyed these over the years, in fact fell in love with each one in turn: knitting, crochet, needle point, counted cross stitch and now quilting. As well as working on a small quilt that I need to rest from periodically to protect my neck I am knitting socks and a sock yarn blanket with left over balls of what I consider treasured machine washable wool yarn too good to waste! Oh, I also jumped into knitting a small colorful cotton rug for my bathroom when I could not find the right color in the stores. This is not the right color!...but it does incorporate some of the right ones, and the colors remind me of my time in Santa FE, NM. It does cheer me to work with color in so many ways. just can't leave it alone. When I can tear myself way I read mysteries set in Italy, and get my exercise when I walk the streets and hop on the vapparreto in Venice with the characters.

I like to crochet also because it can go with me and does not take much thought.

I love to make crafts (sew) and sort of collect old Simplicity and McCalls patterns of stuffed animals and home decor - even old aprons so if anyone has old patterns of this nature, and would want to get rid of them, let me know. This is just sort of a hobby and not a business.

What are your other crafting hobbies, besides quilting?
I am "obsessed" with everything! I "dabble" in stained glass, fused glass, glass stepping stones, costume jewelry making (mainly earrings), crochet, decopauge (a little), would love to learn polymer clay; I do a bit of scrapbooking and am trying to figure out Kumihimo (Japanese braiding) and locker hooking. I have always wanted to learn to quilt since I was 19 (long time ago  ) and I started a class 3 weeks ago. I love it! I don't sew at all and I have found this very calming. Surprised me! Now instead of Michael's or the glass store, my new digs are Joann's!

I make tabletop fountains and birdbaths from terra cotta pots, and cute lady bugs from bowling balls that DH cuts in half for me. And then of course, there is always gourds to turn into bird houses and feeders. But mostly. I quilt

I love needlepoint and also do some cross stitch. Most of the needlepoint items I have completed have been given away as presents.

I like to do counted cross-stitch and beading. I want to make some beaded ornaments and crochet snowflakes. I am not sure when I will get to them, but they are on my list.
