I heard on the news that our govenor declared a state of emergency ( which means unless it is absolutely necessary, stay off the roads). We are pretty used to this kind of weather and as long as power lines stay up, all is good. I hope all of our neighbors to the east stay warm and dry. Take care all in the path of this blizzard.

10 PM in central vermont - about 12 inches so far. I looked outside a few minutes ago and it's snowing lightly. could pick up over night they tell us, but we won't get the amounts they have forcast for our neighbors to the south. We are ready - this is not a bad storm for us. Headed to bed- will deal with whatever is on the ground in the morning. Sending best wishes for those south of us!

[ATTACH=CONFIG]394035[/ATTACH] Here's the view from my back door. The cap on the bird feeder tells you what we have gotten so far. It's winter. It's Vermont. It's snow. Looking forward to a lovely scene outside tomorrow. Sometimes they get a little too hysterical about it all on the news. Be sensible, take precautions. Wait for spring. It's not like a flood or a tornado. Plan to stay inside and sew tomorrow, after shoveling off the doorsteps.

We are in the middle of a major blizzard here. Snow is coming down at 3 inches per hour. There is about 9 inches on the ground. Where the plows have made one or more passes, there is still about 7 inches of snow on the roads. The wind is ferocious. It is swirling around and often the snow is horizontal. Winds are above 30 mph. I notice that the wind has plastered snow so tightly to some windows that we can't see out. In general, visibility is zero. It's cold. At this point, I think it's good the Governor closed roads to all but emergency vehicles. I suddenly find myself thinking that this wasn't too much media hype, after all. We still have power here, but I understand half a million people are without power now. I am grateful to have it and hope we keep it.

During the day wasn't that bad when the sun was out, but it got chilly at night. I did a lot of reading by flashlight and this time I plan on hand stitching the binding onto my extra large queen size quilt. Told DH we are too old for this, hahaha Thank you all, for thinking about us, Quilters are awesome.
