Default Our evening guest

Now that the weather is getting warmer and brighter of a evening hubby and I sometimes sit outside and we sometimes have a "guest" join us.

Isn't he just gorgeous. For those who do not know he is a kookaburra. Even though I live on 30 mins drive from the heart of Sydney we do live in a bushy area and have a lot of native birds. He just sits on the fence very quietly looking from one to the other of us taking things in and then flys off when he has had enough.

They are gorgeous birds which I have only seen in a zoo. How wonderful that you have one come visit you in your own yard. Nature is amazing.

Can't really tell - but is that a really big bird? My DH and I are passionate "birders" with bird feeders, bird baths, bird books, binoculars, etc. at our house where we can see them out of our living room windows, doors, etc. We keep track of all of the birds that come here - our hummingbirds have just left this week and I am pretty sure that I saw a snow bird (Junco) last week. So, your spring is our fall.

What a great photo! I have a bird feeder but it mostly attracts squirrels for my dog's amusement.
