Out my kitchen window is my neighbor's house. It's an OK house but he isn't into landscaping. In Spring I get a good view of his peonies.

Next to my patio is the climbing rose in my avatar. I love my rose.

Thank you for sharing your view! My view is not that interesting! My cats do love to sit in the windows and watch the birds and squirrels! My dog barks if anything gets too close to the house! :?

Oohhh Lisa, your rose is a real beauty! I'm envious of your green rose thumb..I've never tried them. I do hate to kill plants

LOL at my "green thumb"! I have no idea what the name of my rose is. I bought it at a Wal-Mart about 3 years ago at the year end clearance. I had never tried to grow a rose and had read about all the maintenance and difficulty involved with growing them. Since it was cheap, I decided to give it a try. I brought the rose home and told my husband where to plant it. He assured me that it was too shady in that area, but I insisted. Since then I have done nothing to it other than hack off anything I determine is ugly and tie up anything that is floppy. The rose Gods must have just decided to like me.

I spent the better part of the day on yard duty yesterday. :( I have this golden flame honeysuckle that the hummers like and I had a hummer hover 2 inches off my nose looking at me while I was working near it. I was very still and just looked back. Amazing ... I will never forget that.

I have had the worst luck taking any pictures of the animals who visit my yard this year. Sorry I can't show one. We don't have such colorful birds here on the west coast as you gals do. But, we do have a tiny owl that lives in the ground. The cutest little thing you ever saw! Just brown and grey but so darling.

Our state bird is the nevada blue bird. He looks much like a blue jay without a top knot. I have one that screams into my open kitchen window if I don't have food out there for him. That little pill ... LOL! We have finch, but they are mostly just brown. The male has a little red face. And they sound like a squeek toy, not a song bird like yours. I have a pair in my front trumpet vine nesting there.

Sorry I went on so... But, I just enjoyed your pictures so much, I got inspired. Beautiful! You should send them in to Birds and Blooms magazine.
