I found this old spinning wheel at a garage sale. I brought it home in dirty pieces piled in a box. I thought it would be a DIRTY shame to leave it there even tho I had no use for it. The elderly woman I bought it from told me "Honey that old thing has been in my family for over 200 years and it came from Germany." So my husband and I cleaned it up and put it back together according to pictures we found online. Its living again! :wink: I listed it on Ebay so maybe someone will give it a good home. It deserves it. :)

Can you imagine if we had to spin and weave for every fabric need? And many women did just that. :cry:

Nice find!!!!!! It appears to be only missing a drive band, a relatively simple fix! cool......

My Mom had one when I was a kid. Don't know what happen to it. Wish I had it now. That one looks like the one my Mom had. Very Nice.
